MEDDLE OF HONOR: Kevin McCarthy calls on President Biden to INTERFERE in Trump trial

After Donald Trump’s minion, Matt Gaetz, coordinated an effort to boot Kevin McCarthy out of the House Speaker’s seat, and Trump didn’t intercede for him, one might think McCarthy would be done pandering to Trump.

One would be wrong.

Scrambling for any way to curry favor, McCarthy is now calling on the President of the United States, the very man Trump keeps claiming is responsible for all his troubles, to interfere with state and federal courts to rescue his opponent from criminal charges.

President Biden has made it clear he is staying completely out of the whole situation. He’s leaving the Justice Department to do its job independently, and there’s no indication he has any involvement whatsoever in the state charges, including the criminal case that is now keeping Trump in a courtroom four days a week.

Nonetheless, Trump has labeled them “The Biden Trials,” in a feat of projection that is exceptional even for him, and he keeps claiming that the president has control of the state prosecutors.

McCarthy took a slightly different angle. Instead of claiming that Biden is orchestrating it all, he suggested Biden is at fault for not interfering. He said:

“Why wouldn’t the president take a different position? Why wouldn’t Joe Biden, caring about the voters, say, you know what, this is wrong…they should not have this trial right now so the American people can actually spend time on what the issues are.”

McCarthy then posited that if it was Biden on trial, people would feel that someone should intercede for him.

Notably, one administration did intercede for Trump: his own.

Trump’s Attorney General, Bill Barr, reportedly pushed his way into the investigation before Trump left office, trying to prevent prosecution from taking place, according to the New York Times.

One of Biden’s campaign promises was to restore the separation of powers that the Trump Administration disrupted, by not interfering.

In fact, Biden’s own supporters were frustrated through 2021 and 2022, because he wasn’t putting his hand in the Justice Department and pressing for prosecutions to be hurried along. Even with those complaints, Biden refused to meddle.

By contrast, the Trump Administration tried to dig up manufactured dirt on Biden, even holding aid over the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and pressuring him to make public statements.

It’s also Trump that pushed “lock her up” chants and promises, as he ran against Hillary Clinton, who has never yet been found guilty of a crime. He cheered the investigation into her deletion of personal emails, announced shortly before the election.

When it wasn’t at Trump, he and his sycophants all thought the justice process being carried out even as an election loomed was perfectly appropriate.

Now they want Biden, who they’re still targeting with unfounded allegations, unwarranted House hearings, and frivolous investigations, to reject the separation of powers to pull Trump’s feet out of the fire he put them in all by himself.

Sorry, Kevin, it ain’t gonna happen that way.
