In honor of First Lady Melania Trump’s 48th birthday, the president gave her a gift with about as much thought as anyone would expect from the Narcissist-in-Chief.
The president decided to grant an early-morning interview to the panel of “Fox & Friends” because, according to him, it’s Melania’s birthday.
“I picked a very, very special day because it’s Melania’s birthday so I said, let’s do it on Melania’s birthday,” he said. “So happy birthday to Melania.”
The First Lady would be thrilled to know that her husband decided to honor her by granting the least trusted “news source” in America a rant-filled interview.
But it got worse. The panel asked Trump what he got for Melania, and his answer spoke volumes.
“Well, I better not get into that ’cause I may get in trouble. Maybe I didn’t get her so much. I tell you what she has done, I got her a beautiful card. You know I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents, OK? But I got her a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers.”

Of course, Trump wasn’t too busy to engage in his love fest with Kanye West on Twitter or to even call into Fox News, for that matter.
He would have been well served to at least make an effort. Ever since news broke of Trump’s $130,000 payment via Michael Cohen as “hush money” to keep porn star Stormy Daniels quiet about their 2006 affair – only months after Melania gave birth to their son, Barron – the First Lady has been particularly distant from her husband.
Melania, for her part, has subtle ways of showing her dissatisfaction.

If only Trump cared about Melania – or anyone, for that matter – as much as he cares about himself, she might have done better than a card. I’d say he’s probably sleeping on the couch tonight, but he already does.
