RE-EMERGENCE: Melania Trump determined to “leave her mark” on history

Melania

A new report reveals that Melania Trump feels like she’s finding her groove, only seven years after she plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech, leading to an awkward and deeply flawed tenure as First Lady and disinterested post-term in which she continued to be called First Lady by deluded Trump supporters.

This all comes from what she and team Trump deem to be wildly successful appearances with other First Ladies at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral and her attendance at a swearing-in ceremony for naturalized American citizens.

What an amazingly successful run!

Now, according to Page Six of The New York Post, everyone in Trump’s camp down south believes he will win in November, and the formerly unexcited, mostly frustrated Melania is buying into his next run:

“Our source added, ‘Melania realizes it’s her time to join the ranks of historic first ladies and leave her mark on history… She feels better prepared for her potential role the second time around.’”

“The source added that Melania also feels she can devote more time to the role since her son with Trump, Barron, is now 17.”

Conveniently for Melania, Barron is so much taller than his father that it’s unlikely we’ll ever see a picture of the two of them together again. So, yes, Barron will likely be able to take care of himself.

As for Melania, good lord, girl, it is absolutely not a given that Trump will win in November, no matter how sure Team Mar-a-MAGA may be. And while you could have gotten a decent start in your four years in the White House, instead you took a rose garden paradise and turned it into a parking lot.

That is only a slight exaggeration. She also entombed the tennis court midway through COVID. Those two accomplishments added to blood-red Christmas trees will go down as her three greatest marks in history.

Melania could have done far more to earn a decent reputation had she ever gone out in hiking boots, jeans, a sweatshirt from The Gap, and sporting a smile. In other words, perhaps the American public would’ve been less harsh had she ever looked like an average American.

Instead, she wore clothes straight off the runway at a fashion show in Milan with the same requisite disinterested glare that is plastered on those same models on the runway.

Of course, the infinitely more important thing is that this woman had a fantastic cause to support — bullying on the internet. The only problem was that her husband was the biggest bully on Twitter, so bad that he was kicked off the platform.

All Melania needed to do was take three occasions to say that she didn’t like it and wished he would tone it down, and she could have left a legitimate mark on history.

Her chosen cause was perfect; its execution was vaporous, leaving her searching for something meaningful.

The prospect of success and Trump’s need to have her around left the two able to hammer out an agreement. That’s okay. She has owned him from the golden escalator down.

She likely knows secrets that would bury him if they ever got out. So it’s not like she was ever in a bind with Trump.

Now, it seems, she is ready to spread her wings as she opens year eight in public.

Let’s see if she flies or falls out of the nest.
