Donald Trump held a rally in Iowa on Sunday, and his “presentation,” especially the topics covered, offers a window into a mind that desperately needs either more medication or less.
He is stuck in a bad zone.
If you are a candidate for President and want to argue electric motors for boats — which you probably don’t, stick to cars — you don’t say that the batteries are too heavy and would sink the boat, and then veer that if you’re in a sinking boat, you want to sit on the battery because being electrocuted is much better than being eaten by a shark.
He is right about electrocution versus being eaten. But he left out an analysis as to what is more likely in a boat-sinking issue:
Slurring his words, Trump starts riffing about how he would rather be electrocuted to death than be eaten by a shark. pic.twitter.com/yqPrxWRzN3

See? Yes, slurring his words while also talking about preferences with respect to means of death.
He must realize he doesn’t look as good as he once might have, coming down that golden escalator because he did some damage control while running for president.
Trump says Melania has told him that he looks terrible lately on TV during his speeches but Trump blames it on the lighting. pic.twitter.com/iVoNdqcL3u

It would seem that the flow of his speech is far more important than how he looks. Then again, Trump doesn’t have a cult following because he speaks like George Will or AOC.
Trump saved Christmas. It used to be all “Happy Holidays” (Because not everyone is Christian, but just about every religion observes something around the winter solstice. And there was New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. (And Boxing Day, right Canada?)
He saved Christmas:

Right, because no one said “Merry Christmas” before him. And it was Trump’s power that forced Fmr. President Barack Obama to put a Santa Claus hat on and visited a children’s hospital with gifts:
Trump is always ready to ignore reality if needed and simply blurts out meaningless crap.

And here’s one where you question his faculties and whether he’s focused on the wrong person or is just too stupid to be president again:
Trump says the Obama Administration “says it in their stats” that Trump built 500 miles of border wall when he was president. pic.twitter.com/hWHLiZax3r

It is a fence (To the extent Trump built anything), not a wall. And, I’d like to see proof that the Biden administration’s “stats” show 500 miles of new fencing under Trump. He will say anything and – because it’s a cult, they believe him.
Politifact states Trump built 52 miles of new barriers, and 458 miles that were previously fenced were repaired or strengthened.
Still a misogynistic and dangerous person:
Slurring his words throughout this bizarre, rambling speech, Trump points out a State Senator and calls her “a beautiful female.” pic.twitter.com/1xZMCOnxqA

He is referring to a professional, serious, adult woman (even if in a cult). You don’t “flirt,” nor get creepy behind a podium.
Trump still hates the ungrateful Ronald DeSantis.
This is now Minute 17 of Trump ranting about Desantis after saying he isn’t worried about him anymore. pic.twitter.com/Pm8UZWC3Os

He isn’t worried about DeSantis beating him – not now. He just hates DeSantis, and that deserves 17 minutes of time in a completely unorganized diatribe.
Last, Trump can’t hate anyone who is praising him with love and awe.
Trump is asked if he supports Matt Gaetz’s efforts to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker. He says he likes both and McCarthy said very nice things about him this morning so he doesn’t want to comment. pic.twitter.com/xTrnkd7eiY
— Ron Filipkowski (@RonFilipkowski) October 1, 2023
McCarthy knows what everyone else on earth has figured out. Trump will part with anything except his own personal money to give to anyone who says wonderful things about him.
And expect McCarthy to praise Trump a lot in the coming week in an effort to keep his speakership.
Regardless, they can say that Biden has slowed down a bit. But wisdom, experience, and a sense of decency are highly valuable, and Trump is slipping further and further, encircling the sanity drain.
