Like many people obsessively following their news feeds today, actor and former Star Trek star George Takei saw the news of the fire at Trump Tower and worried about the possibility of major death and destruction in what could have been a remake of The Towering Inferno.
Luckily it now appears that the New York City Fire Department has managed to mostly subdue the now four-alarm blaze and keep damage to a minimum, at least according to the Fire Warden-in-Chief.
Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!

Yes, the president confirmed that all those illegal Polish workers he hired to help construct Trump Tower did a great job that helped save his building. Where was ICE when you needed them?
While the president may have jumped the gun in reporting the progress in fighting the fire, George Takei, for his part, was happy to see the firefighters in New York show up on the scene so quickly. He held them up as a model for others to emulate in his tweet on the subject.

Now that, my friend, is a serious burn! Takei is on fire! Cue up “Burning Down The House (White House Remix)” on the wheels of steel.
