WRESTLED: “Gym” Jordan could face charges in OSU lawsuit thanks to SCOTUS

Jordan could face charges in OSU lawsuit thanks to SCOTUS

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that a sexual abuse lawsuit brought by 230 former Ohio State University athletes against their coach can move forward.

And it could reach all the way to Congress.

The new SCOTUS decision allows for the remaining former students to sue OSU for failing to protect them from sexual predator Coach Richard Strauss decades ago, backing the decision of an appeals court panel convened in September 2022.

Strauss was credibly accused of assaulting hundreds of male students who attended the university from the 1970s through the 1990s, usually under the pretense of performing medical exams.

The 2022 ruling determined that many of the young men who were sexually assaulted by Coach Strauss, who was also a medical doctor, weren’t even aware they were victims until others came forward in 2018.

Strauss, who died by suicide in 2005, was the focus of an independent investigation in 2019 which concluded that coaches and athletic administrators at OSU “knew for two decades that Strauss was molesting male athletes and other students but failed to sound the alarm or stop him.”

And one of those coaches just happened to be useless, jacketless, Trump enabler Rep. Jim “Gym” Jordan (R-OH), who has gerrymandered himself into a political career while never passing any bills.

UFC wrestler Mark Coleman shared phone calls Jordan made to his home where he begged a rape victim he could have saved not to testify against him.

Gym won’t answer any direct questions about looking the other way at Ohio State despite lawsuits brought against him by family members.

And yet, Jordan is still the chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

Thanks, SCOTUS! And hurry up with that HBO docuseries project already, George Clooney!
