Truth is anathema to the Republicans, which is why it matters now literally more than ever as the GOP is attempting to whitewash American history and rewrite it to make them look better.
The Republicans are literally hellbent on wasting the next two years with their performative political propaganda disguised as “hearings,” so House Democrats have been doing all they can to minimalize the potential collateral damage.
With “Weaker Speaker” Kevin McCarthy releasing the January 6th security footage to Tucker Carlson so his staff of editing monkeys could cut it up to make the “MAGA Good Parts” version, Democrats are using their time on the House floor and on Committees to loudly and passionately preserve the real truth of what we all witnessed live.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who was both a Trump impeachment manager as well as a member of the January 6th House Select Committee, took to the House floor on Wednesday to drag the GOP members of the House Oversight Committee who were also there on January 6th and know all too damn well what happened.

“We saw them come and descend upon this chamber, this Congress, wounding and injuring 150 of our police officers, breaking people’s noses, breaking people’s fingers, putting people in the hospital,” Raskin railed at the Republicans. “And already they’re back on the news with [the] big lie, saying, ‘No, no, no, it was a tourist visit.'”
