The Republican Party wants you to work until the day you die–that is, if they haven’t already killed you by denying you access to healthcare, making it super easy for anyone to get a gun, and cutting programs to help feed, educate, and house you while spreading COVID misinformation.
The current GOP plan to kill off their own voting base seems like an odd one to me. Democrats don’t want to take anything away from anyone, and Republicans want to take everything away from everyone to keep for themselves.
Earlier this month, Republicans on the House Budget Committee proposed a repeal of the healthcare provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act.
Not sure how that gets you anything but voted out of office, but ok Trumpers.
In their latest attempt to cut Social Security without actually cutting it, 156 House Republicans proposed a plan which would raise the retirement age to 70 years old.
While many Americans might be spry enough to keep going, plenty of others have had 65 as the golden target age to finally retire.

Meanwhile, the “Rules For Thee But Not For Me” party of Trumpocrites can start getting their pensions at age 62.
Many of us have no lofty visions of retirement to begin with as we continue to live hand to mouth in the post-COVID era (including yours truly), and it’s disheartening to know that should we actually get some kind of financial security, the GOP will do all it can to mess with it.
