FISHWRAP: New York Times publishes dangerous anti-mask Op-Ed

When a major national news publication posts an opinion piece titled “The Mask Mandates Did Nothing. Will Any Lessons Be Learned?” it makes my (vaccinated and boosted) blood boil.

That’s what The New York Times did on Wednesday, and it’s really time the Old Gray Lady got right with herself again.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, thanks to the First Amendment.

This column is “Reported Opinion,” but I’m never here to spread dangerous misinformation disguised as “Hey, that’s just my take.”

If Bret Stephens (who is NOT a doctor, but is able to find right-wing physicians who support his take) wants to be a dick about the mask mandates, that’s his right.

But he should write about it on his own blog, not in a newspaper despite being under the protection of the “Op-Ed” umbrella.

Trump lied, Americans died.

Stephens has conveniently forgotten that Donald Trump knew the Coronavirus was deadly and easily spread, as we learned from the Bob “Oh, I’ll Just Hold Onto All of This Life-Saving Info Until My Publishing Date” Woodward.

Sorry, Bret, but I’m old enough to remember when Trump chose to politicize COVID-19 instead of becoming a champion for the masses.

He could’ve had the 2020 election in the bag if he’d just advocated for masks and vaccines to save the lives of millions of registered voters instead of going out of his way to make sure more of them died.

Masks work to prevent the spread of airborne germs.

Just ask the surgeon who’s about to perform your life-saving surgery.

Or the dentist who’s leaning super close to your face while their gloved-for-your-protection fingers are in your mouth.

The GOP is a death cult, and so far no one has been able to change my mind.

Also, someone needs to replace the Opinions editor at the NYT, ASAP.
