When former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley announced her candidacy for president in 2024 on Valentine’s Day, she claimed that America “isn’t a racist country.”
Tell that to Ann Coulter, Nimrata.
In an appearance on The Mark Simone Show podcast this week, Coulter made some typically hateful xenophobic comments about Haley, who was born in the U.S. to Indian immigrant parents. “Why don’t you go back to your own country?” Coulter mused.
Ah, yes, that old trope. Because nothing says “patriotism” more than telling an American citizen to leave America.

Coulter not only attacked Haley’s heritage, but the entire country of India itself:
“Her candidacy did remind me that I need to immigrate to India so I can demand they start taking down parts of their history,” Coulter spewed.
“What’s with the worshipping of the cows? They’re all starving over there. Did you know they have a rat temple, where they worship rats?”
Yes, she said that in 2023.

There’s no winner in this Qatfight because both Coulter and Haley are opportunistic climbers who decided being terrible was the key to their successes after everything else had failed them.
Haley also drew some sympathy this week from the masses after CNN‘s Don Lemon categorized her as “past her prime.”

While she was busy lying about essentially everything in her campaign video, women found themselves in the unenviable position of defending both Haley and themselves.
If you’re going to bash a Republican woman in politics, there are plenty of things to go after her for without being an ageist misogynist.
It gets extra special, however, when Republican women are bashing one of their own. Then the internalized female misogyny comes out in the absolute worst ways.
I’m no fan of Nikki’s, but if you’re asking me to make a Sophie’s Choice here, I’m going to take up for all Americans of Indian heritage who deserve so much better than Haley when it comes to representation.
Twitter seemed to find that middle ground of what my ex-boyfriend calls a “Yeah, but still,” which will be self-explanatory once you read through these takes.

I don’t support Nikki Haley, but this is disgusting behavior by Coulter. https://t.co/BETAyU26Fq

Far too often, a woman’s fertility is tied into her value. But we don’t stop being vital humans just because our periods stop
If you’re going to drag opportunistic liar Nikki Haley, there’s plenty of material based on her terrible politics without mentioning her age or gender https://t.co/dy1MJL0CFI
