When it comes to (allegedly) openly gay Rep. George “Anthony Devolder Kitara Ravache Zabrovsky Jinglehimer Schmidt” Santos (R-NY-ish), the “Q” in “LGBTQ+” clearly stands for “Qrazy”.
How else to explain Santos teaming up with bowlegged Unfrozen Neanderthal Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor “No Longer” Greene (Q-GA via Putin’s latest propaganda briefing) cosponsoring a bill that would federally restrict any student access to books that discuss LGBTQ+ themes?
I mean, Santos is an opportunistic grifting fraud of a climber who’s trying to avoid the reality of his impending arrest (although no one was feeling all that confident in the DOJ on Wednesday, so maybe the Brazilian police will finally step up now that Kitara has stepped down from her silly committee assignments), so I’m not surprised he’d sell out his own alleged community.
Marjorie’s weird obsession with framing the LGBTQIA+ community as “child groomers” while hanging out with known Florida pedos like Matt Gaetz and Milo Yannitrumpolous has always fascinated me, especially since she has three teenagers, two of them girls. So of course she’s all up in this thing.

Written by yet another mediocre white Florida MAGA Man — Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), the guy who’s been gifting grenades around the Capitol and whose office oddly hadn’t responded to my email inquiry by press time — H.R. 863 will “end the sexualization of children in schools,” which is a Republican’s way to say “Ew, gay kids freak me out” by hiding it behind legal-sounding mumbo jumbo.
All three of these awful MAGA plants want to make sure that any kid in any school in America who might have questions about their natural sexual urges can’t find any books about it to help them feel less alone in their process.

(Shorthand for the Gen X kids in the way back of the class: it’s like when they tried to keep us from reading all of the Judy Blume books but we read them anyway.)
While it’s not available to read in full just yet, the purpose of the bill, as described by its repressed Florida man author, is “to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a publishing house from knowingly furnishing sexually explicit material to a school or an educational agency, to prohibit Federal funds from being provided to a school that obtains or an educational agency that distributes sexually explicit material, and for other purposes.”

At the same time, the GOP has also decided that any book that mentions any kind of sexual intercourse is “pornography” because they’re all REPRESSED FREAKS.

Maybe someday Republicans will figure out it’s okay to be a human with human feelings so that they don’t end up punishing everyone else for their self-hatred, but we’re not quite there yet at all.
