After months of negotiations between federal prosecutors and the legal team of former Vice President Mike Pence, multiple sources are now saying that Pence has been subpoenaed by Special Counsel Jack Smith in his myriad of investigations into the many crimes that Donald Trump has been accused of, according to reporting from ABC News.
While the exact nature of what Smith is hoping to glean from Pence has not been revealed, it’s considered likely that the special counsel is seeking information relevant to the investigations into Trump’s handling of the classified documents found in the search of his Mar-a-Lago office and storage room and into his multiple attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election that he lost so “bigly.”
With Pence having been strongly pressured by Trump to reject the legitimate electors from the swing states that he lost to Joe Biden — and count the votes of the phony electors that Trump and his allies wanted to rely on to steal the election — he is likely to be a font of incriminating evidence against his former boss.
Pence’s refusal to cooperate with Trump in his seditious schemes turned the disgraced former president against his number two — and prompted him to tweet out an attack on Pence while his MAGA supporters were in the process of violently invading the Capitol and erecting a gallows to hang the principled Vice President for his disloyalty — not to the Constitution that he swore to protect but to the delusional megalomaniac who didn’t want to lose the job for which he was never qualified.
Despite Trump’s apparent attempt to have him assassinated for his disloyalty, Pence had previously refused to cooperate with the House Select Committee’s investigation of the January 6th insurrection, saying that the legislative branch of government had “no right” to his testimony.
The new subpoena from Jack Smith, however, emanates from the executive branch under Joe Biden and Justice Department head Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Pence will have little legal recourse but to honor it.

Pence himself may still not be happy with this latest turn of events since turning into a key witness against Trump may not be seen by the MAGA base of the GOP as a positive move by someone who has his own presidential ambitions,
Even more concerned than the former VP should be Donald Trump, who only stands to suffer from the testimony that Pence can offer.

The subpoena from the special counsel finally reaching the level of the former vice president also means that the DOJ prosecutors have been working their way up from the bottom of the Trump political organization and are finally reaching the apex of the power pyramid.
The next subpoena will likely be for Donald Trump himself and you probably won’t need a news organization to tell you when that takes place.
Trump’s bleating when the process server arrives will likely be heard in every corner of the nation.
