EGO STROKING: Trump can save Ukraine, Republican claims -- but there's a catch

Congressman Troy Nehls (R-TX) thinks Donald Trump can stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine with a single phone call.

However, he won’t do it — Nehls postulates — without getting his self-esteem boosted first.

Trump has claimed that he could solve the problem in Ukraine, using the fact that Vladimir Putin didn’t invade while he was in office as his supporting evidence.

However, while he’s patting his own back for his imagined success, he never quite gets around to mentioning exactly how he’d do it.

Nehls thinks he knows, and that all the disgraced former president would have to do is make a phone call to Putin.

If, in the strange little universe they’ve dreamed up, its as simple as that, why hasn’t Trump acted yet, potentially saving uncountable lives?

If you believe Nehls, it’s not because Trump doesn’t actually have this fantastical power, but because the current President of the United States hasn’t called up to kiss his feet and plead with him for rescue.

Trump would have to have either that, or restoration to office, Nehls indicates, before he’d exert himself. He told Fox News, in a clip you can watch below:

“If you wanna end this war, Joe Biden, you need to call Donald Trump. Donald Trump will call Vladimir Putin and end this war. We must stop this war. Donald  Trump can do it.”

If that doesn’t happen, Nehls says, “Donald Trump will fix it when he’s inaugurated as the 47th [President].”

Trump’s second term is beginning to look as unlikely as him actually flexing on Putin, with the RNC dumping him and polls flagging.

Fortunately, Biden and most of Congress are willing to move to stymie Russia’s invasion and prevent a power grab that could put the hostile leader in a position to target the U.S. or other world powers next, without needing the opposition to woo them into action. Just yesterday, the President announced that the U.S. would be providing additional aid:

“[T]oday, I’m announcing that the United States will be sending 31 Abram tanks to Ukraine, the equivalent of one Ukrainian battalion…The Abrams tanks are the most capable tanks in the world.”

Watch Nehls below, as he begs Biden to help inflate Trump’s self-worth.
