DANGEROUS INSECURITY: McCarthy just tapped this 9/11 denier to Homeland Security Committee

Recently elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is continuing to make good on his deal with the devil, as indicated by the fact that he just gave Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) a position on the House Homeland Security Committee.

Yes, that Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The congresswoman from Georgia has not only been supportive of the Jan. 6th insurrection but reportedly asked then-President Donald Trump for a pardon less than a week after taking office.

Controversial from the beginning, Rep. Greene was stripped of all committee assignments in February 2021 over the freshman legislator’s continuous spreading of misinformation and amplification of rhetoric encouraging violence against members of the Democratic Party.

And now the 9/11 truther has a seat on the congressional body tasked with protecting the American people from terrorist attacks.

“The Committee on Homeland Security will stand strong against all forms of terrorism – both abroad and here at home,” ranking member Rep. John Katko (R-NY) states on the committee’s official website. “Breakdowns in the sharing of intelligence will not be tolerated. This work will require a thoughtful, not knee-jerk, debate to addressing domestic misinformation to prevent radicalization while still respecting civil liberties.”

Congressman Katko — a former New York prosecutor who has handled counterterrorism, immigration, and trafficking cases — will now be seated next to his party and chamber colleague who once blamed Jewish Space lasers for California wildfires and has accused the Democratic Party of being a child sex trafficking, satanic cabal.

“The Democrats are the party of pedophiles, the Democrats are the party of Princess predators from Disney,” Greene said. “The Democrats are the party of elementary school teachers trying to transition their elementary school-aged children and convince them they are different gender. This is the party of their identity, and their identity is the most disgusting, evil, horrible thing happening in our country.”

It was rumored that members of the House GOP’s Freedom Caucus were wheeling and dealing behind closed doors as Rep. McCarthy tried to secure their vote to finally push him over the top in the election for Speaker of the House.

McCarthy has since stood behind the conspiracy theory-spreading congresswoman — refusing to remove her from committee assignments despite backlash from Democratic House members and longtime Republican legislators.

“She’s not going to be the face of the party,” Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Senator Rick Scott (FL) said.

“It’s beyond reprehensible for any elected official, especially a member of Congress, to parrot violent QAnon rhetoric and promote deranged conspiracies like the Pentagon wasn’t really hit by a plane on 9/11. It’s not conservative, it’s insane,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) wrote on Twitter.

It appears, however, that, despite the condemnation from more moderate Republicans, Rep. Greene’s loyalty to McCarthy has paid off.

After two years of having no real responsibility or influence in the House of Representatives, the America First congresswoman – on the outs with her former compatriots – is poised to wreak her MAGA brand of havoc on the democratic process with her new appointment.

The next two years of GOP majority rule are on the road to making history – just not in a good way.
