MUD WRESTLING: It was only a matter of time before a Greene v. Boebert match

There’s no love lost between GOP frenemies, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) these days, as Marge takes a shot at her party colleague’s perceived disloyalty.

“She gladly takes our $$$ but when she’s asked, Lauren refuses to endorse President Trump, she refuses to support Kevin McCarthy, and she childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite,” Green ranted on Twitter

See the tweet below.

Until earlier this year, Greene and Boebert had appeared to be besties — two peas in a MAGA-red right-wing extremist pod.

The not-so-dynamic House of Representatives duo seemed to be in sync as late as January 2022.

Who can forget the embarrassing lack of decorum and professionalism the two displayed when heckling President Joe Biden during his State of the Union address?

Boebert even went to bat for Greene after the suspension of the Georgia native’s personal Twitter account earlier this year for repeated violations of the company’s policy against spreading Covid-19 misinformation.

But the MAGA honeymoon would soon be over.

Just a month later, Rolling Stone reported that the two almost came to blows at a Freedom Caucus meeting of the Board of Directors.

Tensions that had been bubbling over Greene’s appearance at an event hosted by known White Nationalist, Nick Fuentes, finally boiled over.

“Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert reportedly almost came to blows over Greene’s appearance at a white nationalist event in February, to the point that someone had to step in between them to de-escalate the confrontation,” Rolling Stone wrote.

It was a battle that was also noted by POLITICO.

“Their confrontation grew so heated that at least one onlooker feared the Greene-Boebert back-and-forth might escalate beyond the verbal cage match had another board member not stepped in to de-escalate, according to a GOP lawmaker who was granted anonymity to describe what happened,” POLITICO reported.

According to their report, Boebert sought to distance herself from her former buddy and has tried to position herself as a more palatable version of Greene’s QAnon conspiracy Queen persona.

Boebert has been making the MAGA rounds, appearing on stages across the country and riling up the base with talk of guns, GOD, and babies – but Marge isn’t amused.

“I’ve supported and donated to Lauren Boebert,” MTG wrote on Twitter. “President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. She just barely came through by 500 votes.”

Ouch, low blow. But Greene seems completely unaware of her statement’s implications about the value of the endorsements that Boebert received from her, Trump, and McCarthy.

Rep. Greene has been on the outs with more than a handful of Republicans lately — including from being called out by right-wing pundits like Baked Alaska for alleged sexual indiscretions with high-profile influencers, to her reported falling out with former American First bestie, Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

Whatever the cause for the rift between the Colorado and Georgia representatives, it will definitely make for a popcorn-filled clown shown once the new congressional session begins.
