For a long time now, the moniker “Trump Crime Family” has been applied by many to describe the goings-on of a business that has been known, among other things, as an alleged haven for Russian mob money.
Stories by The New York Times and others have made it abundantly clear that the Trump family has also engaged in some, let’s say, less than kosher practices to reduce their tax burden while increasing their property values when it suited them.
Currently, New York State Attorney General Letitia James has a $250 million lawsuit against Trump, his two dopey sons, and sweet, innocent Ivanka (please don’t puke) for inflating the values of their properties and lying on loan forms.
If successful (and the chances just increased that it will be), the suit could prevent them from operating in the state.
Trump also, of course, is dealing with a Justice Department investigation surrounding his theft of documents from the White House, many of which were classified.
And he’s being investigated by the Justice Department and January 6 Committee for the small matter of trying to overthrow the American republic by a violent coup.

With all that, though, we can at long last now officially say that the “Trump Crime Family” nickname has been proven to be undeniably true, as a New York jury just found that the Trump Organization that the family runs guilty of no less than seventeen counts of tax crimes.
The sentencing will be on January 13, ominously a Friday.

More to the point, from the testimony of Trump’s former right-hand man Allen Weisselberg, we know that Dirty Donald himself was fully aware of the scheme.
Now, perhaps Trump is too busy hosting Nazis at Mar-a-Lago or wiping the tears off of Kari Lake’s face to have taken much notice of the court ruling against him.
But the Twitterverse certainly wasn’t going to let him or his demon spawn live it down.
The celebration was joyous, heartfelt, and at times delightfully mean.
The Trump family business is officially a criminal enterprise.

Trump University was a massive fraud.
The Trump Foundation was a massive fraud.
The Trump Organization has now been convicted of fraud.
3 strikes. That's it. Trump should lose his privilege to do business in NY.

For now and forever, the Trump Org will be a criminal enterprise in the eyes of the law, among banks and other lenders, and in the historical record.#TrumpCrimeFamily

NY jury CONVICTS Trump Organization on all counts. Two important takeaways: 1. this likely spells the end of Trump Org, and 2. this increases the odds of a NY prosecution of Trump himself, given that the prosecution argued “Evidence shows Trump
'explicitly' OK'd tax fraud.”— Glenn Kirschner (@glennkirschner2) December 6, 2022
Some made sure to point out that Trump’s kids are the only ones now who officially worked for a criminal enterprise:
The organization that the Trump children work for, not the Biden children, was found guilty on all counts today.

Did everyone see what the Manhattan District Atrorney found on Hunter Biden's laptop? He found that the Trump Organization was guilty of fraud and criminal conspiracy.

(Who doesn’t like Jo?)
Can’t believe Hunter Biden used his laptop to make the Trump Organization commit crimes for more than a decade.

Some expressed hope for the future:
All I want for Christmas is for Trump to go to prison for tax fraud.

And just a bit more justifiable snark, if you will:
Add tax fraud to the long list of Trump’s accomplishments.

Trump WILL be convicted of tax fraud. the NY prosecutors told the court, that there is a BIGGER tax fraud at Trump's business than Weisselberg. And Weisselberg faced 15 years
