For months, Quatisha Valentine of Omaha, Nebraska, would come out to her car just to find it covered in garbage. After a while, Valentine, who is Black, decided to install a surveillance camera and was shocked to see who the culprit was.
William Klees, a White Omaha police officer, resigned last Monday amid an internal investigation after he was identified as the garbage dumper. And still, nobody knows why he targeted Valentine.
Valentine said she recorded Klees leaving her car after dumping trash on it. She said she confronted him but said he did not respond and went back to his apartment. Valentine said she called the police after that interaction.
“It’s been very tiring, I haven’t been getting any sleep,” she told local TV news station KETV. “This person knows where I stay, this person knows where I live,” Valentine said.
Omaha Police released a statement soon after the incident was reported:
“Officer Klees has completely disrupted the peace and sense of safety for Ms. Valentine. His actions are not indicative of the values of the hard-working women and men of the Omaha Police Department. His conduct is unbecoming of an officer and warrants his removal from the OPD.”
A black woman in Omaha kept coming out to her car covered in garbage on a nightly basis, it happened so often she set up a hidden camera to catch who was doing it.
Turns out it was a cop that was stalking and harassing her. pic.twitter.com/ns50ia4Zbk

Valentine said she’s thankful Klees is no longer an Omaha police officer, and even though the situation has been resolved, she’s nonetheless moving to a different apartment.
While the optics may lead some to assume the vandalism was racially motivated, “No one knows, not even myself knows, why this was done to me,” Valentine said.
Could it possibly be because she was Black and he was White? Just guessing here.
All I can say is thank the prevailing deity for the video evidence that Valentine used to prove that Klees was the culprit in his highly unsanitary and disgusting hostile actions.
Do you think that the Omaha Police Department would have fired his ass without it?
