LIBELOUS LOSER: Here’s why E. Jean Carroll can file a new defamation suit against Trump

TRUMP EXPOSED: E. Jean Carroll scores big in latest judge ruling

Donald Trump just can’t help himself, and karma is taking note. The ex-President is facing yet another defamation lawsuit from author E. Jean Carroll after again calling her rape allegations against him a “hoax and a lie” and claiming to have “no idea who she is.” The problem is that this time Trump isn’t president and can’t claim that his libelous statements are part of any official duties.

The attorney for the plaintiff, Roberta Kaplan, alerted the court on Thursday of the plaintiff’s legal team’s intent to file an additional lawsuit. Writing in the one-page letter:

“Trial in this matter is scheduled to begin on February 6, 2023, with a joint pre-trial order and motions in limine due on December 1 and 8, 2022, respectively. See ECF 77. Fact discovery closed on October 19, 2022, and the parties agree that ongoing expert discovery should be completed. Plaintiff E. Jean Carroll also intends to file a separate action against Defendant Donald J. Trump on November 24, 2022, raising a claim of battery pursuant to the Adult Survivors Act and a new claim of defamation relating to an October 12 statement that Defendant made about Plaintiff.”

Angry that a judge refused to halt Carroll’s defamation suit against him, Trump posted an unhinged rant on his failing social media platform Truth Social in October.

“She completely made up a story that I met her at the doors of this crowded New York City Department store and within minutes, “swooned” her. It is a Hoax and a lie, just like all the other hoaxes that have been played on me for the past seven years. And, while I am not supposed to say it, I will. This woman is not my type! She has no idea what day, what week, what month, what year, or what decade this so-called “event” supposedly happened.”

United States District Judge Lewis Kaplan (no relation) nipped Trump’s attempt to delay the case in the bud, citing Carroll’s plans to sue the former President after New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) reinstated the Adult Survivors Act – which removed the statute of limitations and is now allowing Carroll to pursue justice in civil court.

“As this Court previously has observed, Mr. Trump has litigated this case since it began in 2019 with the effect and probably the purpose of delaying it,” Judge Kaplan wrote in his opinion.

Former federal prosecutor Mitchell Epner called Judge Kaplan’s decision not to delay Carroll’s case a “huge win” for the author. After three long years, the acclaimed writer may finally see an end to the kind of nightmare that only comes with a narcissist and liar like the ex-President.

With less than two weeks until the 24th — when she’ll be allowed under the new New York State law to file her battery claim — E. Jean Carroll just may have something else to be grateful for by Thanksgiving.
