The man formerly known as America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani, is dead. Not literally, but in every other way imaginable. The suspended attorney was ordered to pay $225,000 to his ex-wife within two weeks or face jail time after blowing off a Manhattan court appearance on Friday.

According to NBC4 New York:

“Judge Michael Katz said Giuliani is in contempt of court and has until next month to make the payment, including $10,000 in attorney fees, as first reported by The New York Post. If Giuliani doesn’t pay by Oct. 7, he could be arrested.”

Giuliani’s third ex-wife, Judith Giuliani, alleged the former mayor owed her over $250,000 as part of a 2019 divorce settlement that her former husband has yet to make good on.

The amount includes money for an assistant, country club dues, and proceeds from the sale of a Florida condo they owned jointly as husband and wife.

“It’s totally my fault,” Giuliani said. “I don’t know how to emphasize to you the pressures.”

Though Giuliani doesn’t deny owing his ex-wife money, it’s the amount in question. Calling the $260,000 a “gross exaggeration” at the last court he graced with his appearance, saying the figure is closer to $50K.

“I do owe her money but I don’t owe her $260,000,” Giuliani, a legal adviser to former President Donald Trump, told the judge in state court.

The former Mrs. Giuliani had asked the court to hold her ex-husband in contempt for his failure to keep his agreed-upon financial obligation. Rudy, on the other hand, put the blame for his negligence on the multiple criminal and civil cases he’s now being subjected to.

“I’m being sued in ten different cases. I’m getting ready for two massive hearings,” The New York Post reported.

Since leaving his role as the mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani has been on a steady downward spiral. After losing to former First Lady Hillary Clinton in the 2000 New York contest for U.S. Senate – he reportedly spent time at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago piecing his life back together after falling into alcohol addiction.

Giuliani’s law license has been suspended in both Washington DC and New York for his role in promoting ex-President Trump’s claims of a stolen election.

Whether or not the disgraced lawyer actually has the funds to pay his third ex-wife, no one knows, but what is evident is that the former mayor has reached the bottom of both his career and his life
