WATCH: This disastrous debate performance by Lauren Boebert must be seen to be believed

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) failed miserably and gloriously in her first official debate against Adam Frisch, her Democratic challenger for the congressional seat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district. Before the debate even began, Boebert was grasping at straws by attacking the moderator and claiming the event was partisan.

When going over the debate’s rules, Boebert initially refused to say whether she agreed, instead demanding host Edie Sonn of the Colorado Behavioral Health Council admit that she posted a tweet in support of Boebert’s 2020 challenger, former Colorado state representative Diane Mitsch Bush.

“’This debate is not about me,’ Sonn shot back, adding that Boebert was free to leave if she didn’t want to participate in the debate. The congresswoman relented,” The Denver Post reported.

“Boebert asserted that the debate was not a nonpartisan event, prompting boos from a few of the perhaps 200 people in Colorado Mesa University’s Robinson Theater,” according to the newspaper’s account,

The GOP mouthpiece also spent a significant portion of the debate campaigning against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) – who apparently spends a great deal of time living in Boebert’s head — leading the freshman congresswoman’s opponent to repeatedly state, “I’m Adam Frisch, I’m not Nancy Pelosi.”

Boebert could only reply with: “It doesn’t matter if you’re not Nancy Pelosi, Because if you get there and she’s speaker, you work for her.”

Frisch has said he would not support another Pelosi term as speaker if he’s elected.

Adam Frisch called Rep. Boebert out for her abysmal legislative record, pointing out that the Republican has not passed a single bill nor has she been willing to reach across the aisle on any meaningful legislation.

When the Democratic candidate asked Boebert why she voted against legislation that would fund cancer research – specifically the TRANSPLANT ACT, which reauthorized the National Marrow Donor Program – Boebert blamed Madame Speaker, saying that Rep. Pelosi  “uses the most vulnerable among us” to push her own liberal agenda.

Boebert, along with her twin chaos agent Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), were the only two to oppose the bill.

Frisch also pointed out his opponent’s vote against requiring the Federal Trade Commission to track scams on seniors. Boebert justified her no vote on the Protecting Seniors from Emergency Scams Act:

“Our law enforcement is already equipped to do this,” Boebert said. “This was just another one of Pelosi’s con games. This was a blank check.”

Boebert attacked the former Aspen City Council member as a “Green New Deal extremist” after her opponent asked congress to pass a carbon tax and pushed for renewable energy, saying that his “extreme policies” were hurting the American people and “That’s another part of the con game that Americans are waking up to.”

The conspiracy-theory-spouting congresswoman also made the unsubstantiated claim that her opponent was running a “covert government operation” to kill blue-collar jobs in Aspen.

Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without GOP fear-mongering about the proposed hiring of 87,000 IRS agents over the next decade, outrageously stating that the nation’s bill collectors were “opening the border” and “shutting down energy production,” in the state – none of which makes any sense to anyone outside of QAnon precincts.

“It is not time to help Nancy Pelosi, it is time to fire Nancy Pelosi,” Boebert said. “This election say ‘no’ to liberal extremists and their army of IRS agents,” The Denver Post reported.

Rep. Lauren Boebert once again proves what we know about the GOP superstar – that she lacks the ability to debate real issues. Instead, Boebert reverts to talking points and fear-mongering, making baseless accusations and statements without substance. Oh, and she’s obsessed with Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

Let’s hope the people of Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district come to their senses in November and vote this joke of a Congresswoman out of office.
