In a recent interview with right-wing news outlet Real America News, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said she “would be honored” if ex-President Donald Trump asked her to be his 2024 running mate.

Last week, the interview held at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida had Real America hosts floating rumors about support for a Trump presidential bid in two years.

“I hear the words MTG mentioned a lot as somebody who’d be a great running mate for Donald Trump,” said the host, who then asked the congresswoman, “what you do with that?”

Greene responded:

“I think if he asked me, I would definitely give that some strong consideration. I love President Trump, I never hide that fact. I think he’s wonderful. I have a great relationship with him, I talk to him frequently. I’m so thankful for him and his family as we all are. And I defend him all the time, I swear I would fight for that man, because he fought for us and that’s the kind of president we need back.”

81 million Americans would disagree.

On an episode on the now bankrupt podcast Infowars, Greene told host Alex Jones that running for president “isn’t something I don’t consider.”

Three weeks ago, the conspiracy theory-pushing host told the congresswoman that she would “poll better” than both Trump and DeSantis, adding:

“I’d go ahead and just back you for president. I’m serious. You’re just as smart or smarter than both of them…We need to think about MTG president, here.”

No, we don’t.

The self-proclaimed Christian nationalist, has been stripped of all committee assignments and saw her personal Twitter account banned from the popular social media platform. Spreading coronavirus misinformation, pushing QAnon conspiracy theories as fact, and parroting white nationalist talking points, Greene has a resume that’s perfect for the GOP – and bad for America.

Whoever winds up on the 2024 ballot, it’s time to put America First — and fascism last — by rejecting Trumpism in all forms this November.
