Newly revealed texts prove that Trump associates knew that the march to the Capitol was planned in advance of its occurrence. In Tuesday’s televised Jan. 6th committee hearing, texts between MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and Kylie Kremer – the organizer of the Stop the Steal rally at the Ellipse – reveal Trump’s “sudden” call to head to Congress’ doorstep was already on the agenda. Two days before the Capitol riot, Kremer texted Lindell:

The day before the riot, insurrection planner Ali Alexander sent a text with the Jan. 6th agenda, proving that he  also had advance knowledge of Trump’s plans and intentions.

Previous testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson – former senior aide to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows – gave an inside account of Trump’s plans and actions on the day of the insurrection and his insistence on marching to the Capitol against the advice of his advisers and White House counsel, Pat Cipollone, who knew that no good would come of it.

In the days leading up to Trump’s speech at the Ellipse, the Secret Service shared concerns about possible violence at the rally with the White House. Thus, the then-President was well aware of the possibility of violence when Kremer and Alexander sent their texts. Trump knew, but could not care less.

This is backed up by Hutchinson’s testimony that Trump wanted metal detectors removed from his rally. She recounted his exploding in anger at his security personnel:

“I don’t f—ing care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me. Take the f—ing mags away,” Trump said.

Trump allegedly went so far as to get physical with his head of security, Robert Engel, who refused to take Trump to the Capitol. Hutchinson recounted a story she had heard that Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel and lunged at the secret service agent, she said in her select committee testimony.

With one hearing left, the onion is almost peeled. It gives us a well-rounded, and comprehensive look into the minds of Trump and those in his inner circle, including the MyPillow CEO– and just how far he was willing to go to keep his grip on power.

Too far.
