Former President Donald Trump flipped out in an interview at his Mar-a-Lago estate with Fox pundit and 2008 Apprentice winner Piers Morgan.

After a tense off-camera exchange between the on-again-off-again friends left, the already angry reality show host was further incensed when he had to face the truth: he is not the president anymore.

In a taped interview scheduled to launch the premiere of Morgan’s show Piers Morgan Uncensored on Fox Nation, the politically toxic former guy did not like the Brit’s line of questioning. In a rare move for those on the right, Morgan didn’t let up when pressing Trump on his continuing to push “The Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. This exchange ensued, according to the New York Post:

Morgan: “With respect, you haven’t produced the hard evidence.”

Trump: “I don’t think you’re real.”

Trump abruptly ended the interview, ordering the cameras be turned off. But not before calling Morgan “dishonest” and “a fool.”

Considering what happened just minutes before the two men sat down, it’s surprising that Trump was interviewed at all.

According to Morgan, eight minutes before the interview was scheduled to start his producer approached him with a list of negative quotes Morgan had said about Trump over the past two years. Morgan referred to Trump as a “mafia boss”, “batshit crazy”, and said he should be “removed from office” the day after January 6th.

He alleges, based on the copy that was already given to Trump, that it was far-right British Brexit supporter Nigel Farage who tried to poison the well.

Instead of starting the discussion, Morgan was instead promptly summoned to Trump’s office in Mar-a-Lago. There, an enraged Trump confronted Piers. He read through the quotes, shook his head, and called Morgan “disloyal.”

If Trump hadn’t unfollowed Piers on Twitter, he might have known that Morgan had broken up with the sore loser once before. According to the Huffington Post, the day after Biden’s inauguration, Piers Morgan declared live on air that he was “done” with Trump for his role in the Capitol riot. Morgan wrote:

For people like me who liked Trump, who got on with him and known him for a long time, way longer before he was a politician and after, it was incredibly disappointing to see him lose his mind, lose any sense of leadership, and in the end actually inspire a riot against the heart of American democracy. At that point, I was done. That’s it, sorry, I can’t be with someone like that.

But the former Celebrity Apprentice knew which buttons to press and convinced the twice-impeached disgraced ex-president to do the interview anyway.

Despite his feelings of betrayal, Trump  – never one to miss an opportunity to talk about himself – sat down with Morgan for a little over an hour before the final blow-up and his departure in a tizzy.

Not known to forgive or forget, expect Piers Morgan will be officially added to Donald Trump’s increasingly long list of exes shortly.
