Trump Evangelical ally reveals he might not be able to run in 2024 because of his health

Despite being overwhelmingly defeated by now-President Biden at the ballot box in 2020, Donald Trump still enjoys an ironfisted rule over the Republican Party. His fanatical supporters have refused to abandon him even after he incited a deadly insurrection and there has been some speculation that he might mount another bid for the White House in 2024. One factor that might stand in the way of that nightmare scenario is Trump’s health.

Reverend Franklin Graham, Evangelical leader and close Trump ally, told Axios that he’s unsure if Trump will be healthy enough to undertake the strenuous challenge that is running for president a second time.

“I think for him, everything will depend on his health at that time. If he still has energy and strength like he does. I don’t,” said Graham.

“You know the guy does not eat well, you know, and it’s amazing the energy that he has,” Graham went on. The morbidly obese former president’s diet is infamously bad and his fondness for McDonald’s is well-documented. He is also vocally averse to the idea of exercise, mistakenly believing that it somehow expends one’s life force the way a battery is used up. At age 74, these dangerously bad habits are likely rapidly catching up to him.

“He’s lost weight, fifteen pounds, Maybe. So he might be in good health and in good shape. I don’t know,” Grahan also stated, perhaps trying to put a positive spin on Trump’s outlook for the benefit of the MAGA base.

Trump should do himself and the world a favor and bow to the reality of his age and physical limitations. At this point, there’s nothing he can do to erase the massive damage he inflicted on this country during his four years in the White House, but he can at least demonstrate the basic decency of letting us all move on.
