Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green caught on video urging Speaker Pelosi’s execution

The appalling quality of some of America’s elected legislative representatives has reached new lows in the 117th United States Congress that includes a few members elected as Republicans, but who have more allegiance to the deluded conspiracy theories of QAnon than to the Constitution to which they swore fealty.

While much attention has been paid to some of the most reprehensible freshman lawmakers inducted into Congress recently — including the trigger-happy Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) who has refused to allow her bag to be checked after setting off metal detectors in the capitol entranceway — another congressional QAnon adherent has also been desperately seeking media attention with her antics.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) likely knew that she would make the headlines when she announced her intentions to file a motion to impeach President Joe Biden even before he was sworn in officially as president and could not have possibly committed an impeachable offense in any rational person’s mind.

It seemed to matter little to Congresswoman Greene that those headlines overwhelmingly mocked her as a plainly partisan imbecile for her retaliation against Democrats for their impeachment of Donald Trump after he incited the Capitol insurrection, as she seemingly subscribes to the adage that any publicity is good publicity.

If that’s the case, then Rep. Greene will get plenty of valuable media exposure from the news that broke today after a CNN KFile review of her social media posts.

According to the CNN report, the Georgia congresswoman “repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians” in posts on her personal Facebook page.

“Greene, who represents Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, frequently posted far-right extremist and debunked conspiracy theories on her page, including the baseless QAnon conspiracy which casts former President Donald Trump in an imagined battle against a sinister cabal of Democrats and celebrities who abuse children,” CNN reports.
“In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the “deep state” working against Trump,” the story goes on to relate.
The story, posted to CNN.com, goes on to detail several other instances of radical extremist posts rivaling anything that the Taliban may have used in their own propaganda campaigns.
“In one Facebook post from April 2018, Greene wrote conspiratorially about the Iran Deal, one of former President Barack Obama’s signature foreign policy achievements. A commenter asked Greene, “Now do we get to hang them ?? Meaning H & O ???,” referring to Obama and Hillary Clinton.”
“Greene replied, ‘Stage is being set. Players are being put in place. We must be patient. This must be done perfectly or liberal judges would let them off,'” the cable news network reveals.
Given the opportunity to respond to the evidence that her Facebook posts were indistinguishable from those posted by members of the insurgent mob of Trump insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol and threatened the lives of her Capitol Hill colleagues, Congresswoman Greene tried to suggest that someone other than herself may have written the comments posted under her own name.
“Over the years, I’ve had teams of people manage my pages. Many posts have been liked. Many posts have been shared. Some did not represent my views. Especially the ones that CNN is about to spread across the internet,” Greene wrote.
That’s a Republican for you. Always eager to demand that anyone but themselves accept personal responsibility for their words and actions.
It’s hardly surprising that Rep. Greene is trying to wiggle out of responsibility for her reprehensible words, given that she has also attempted to place blame for the violent invasion of Congress by Trump’s deplorables on the backs of the Democrats that the murderous crowd was attempting to find, tie up and detain with the zip-ties they conveniently brought along for just that purpose, and then bring to the gallows that they built on Capitol grounds to stage just the sort of executions that Greene so adamantly called for in her social media posts.
It’s helpful to know that Representative Greene believes that “those who stoke insurrection & spread conspiracies…must be expelled,” particularly when the CNN report uncovered this much more draconian sentence for treason that the congresswoman urged be applied to the actions of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she believed warranted the ultimate penalty.
“Before she ran for Congress in 2020, Greene created a White House petition in January 2019 to impeach the House speaker for ‘crimes of treason,’ citing Pelosi’s support of so-called sanctuary policies that ‘are serving illegals and not United States citizens’ and because Pelosi did not support Trump’s border wall,” CNN writes.
“In one speech, promoting the petition, Greene suggested Pelosi could be executed for treason.”
“‘She’s a traitor to our country, she’s guilty of treason,’ Greene says in the video, which she posted on Facebook at the time. ‘She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws. And she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That’s what treason is. And by our law representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government. And it’s, uh, it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason.’ the CNN report reveals Greene advocated.
Such an advocate of the death penalty for treason may eventually come around to President Biden’s opposition to such an irreversible sentence once the accusations start flying in her own direction as someone who voted against accepting the legitimate results of the electoral college vote.
At the very least, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s behavior — both before and after taking office — and her radical agenda indicates that she deserves expulsion from Congress for her support of Trump’s seditious attempt to reverse the outcome of his electoral loss.
Let’s hope the Democrats have the cojones to take this necessary action.
