Trump redefines courage as whining about supposedly “FIXED” election results

In 1956, the then-Senator John F. Kennedy famously penned a volume of short biographies describing acts of bravery and integrity by eight U.S.Senators, entitling it Profiles in Courage.

!n 2020, Donald Trump wrote a tweet that redefined the very notion of courage in a way that would surely have John F. Kennedy turning over in his grave, were such a thing possible.

For Trump, courage seems to be defined not as standing up for one’s principles in the face of adversity and tyranny, but as flogging demonstrable falsehoods in a whiny and desperate plea to avoid the loss of his presidential immunity and the subsequent long-delayed accountability for his criminal actions.

The very fact that Trump continues to insist that he “received hundreds of thousands of legal votes more, in all of the Swing States, than” Joe Biden when that totally counterfactual claim has been disproven time and again by the election officials, including members of his own party, in the states he claims to have won, is a sign not of courage, but of malicious, self-interested duplicity and/or deluded insanity.

There is no courage in Trump’s refusing to face up to his loss.

There is no courage in attempting to claim a victory that he hasn’t earned.

There is no courage in destroying public confidence in the fairness of an election that has been declared free, fair, and lacking in any sort of electoral malfeasance that could transform Trump’s massive defeat into a victory for him.

There is only pathos and shame.

The only thing “FIXED” about the election is that now the presidency can finally be repaired from all the damage that Trump has inflicted on the institution of the executive branch once he finally leaves office on January 20th.

It won’t make you any more courageous.

If the American people have anything to learn about courage, they would be better off picking up a copy of John F. Kennedy’s book and reading about some politicians who have truly demonstrated it.

Donald Trump’s sniveling is as far from courage as you will find.
