President Trump’s shameful and baseless accusations of mass voter fraud in the wake of President-elect Biden’s resounding victory have had the immediate effect of convincing many Republicans that the election was stolen and that our voting systems are fundamentally compromised.
In order to rationalize this completely ludicrous worldview, the MAGA movement has had to concoct all manner of convoluted conspiracies and in the process, some GOP officials have found themselves slammed with rhetorical friendly fire. Conservatives, unable to accept that Georgia flipped blue this year, have started to attack the state’s Republican governor and secretary of state for properly certifying Biden’s win.
For decades, the Republican Party has cultivated toxic paranoia in its base and now the crazed chickens are coming home to roost. Their delusional perception of reality is coming up against cold hard reality and rather than adjusting their beliefs to fit the facts they’re looking for people to blame. As a result, some Republicans are starting to worry that they could see decreased voter turnout in the upcoming Georgia Senate runoffs—the two elections which will decide whether Democrats or Republicans control the chamber.
A campaign has sprung up on social media urging conservatives to write-in Donald Trump’s name instead of voting for Senate candidates David Perdue or Kelly Loeffler. It’s unclear whether the initiative is being pushed by liberals hoping to exploit disillusioned MAGA supporters or a genuine outgrowth of the movement’s twisted pathologies. In either case, it’s a deeply funny development.
Trump attorney Lin Wood has even suggested that voters threaten to shun Loeffler and Perdue in order to extract political concessions.
Right-wing concerns about the runoffs are growing so intense that Donald Trump Jr. felt the need to speak out on the subject. He took to Twitter to say that he is seeing people telling Georgians not to vote for Loeffler and Perdue and that the idea is “NONSENSE” and that voters should “IGNORE” such exhortations. “We need ALL of our people coming out to vote for Kelly & David,” he added.
While it’s unclear what if any effect the boycott/write-in efforts will have on the election what is clear is that the Democratic candidates need all the support they can get. Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are courageous, visionary leaders ready to help get American back on track and put Trumpism in the rearview. By electing them, Georgia can ram the final nails into the coffin of MAGA.
That is NONSENSE.
IGNORE those people.

Inevitably, the responses to Jr.’s tweet was a mixture of mockery, anger, and trolling.

Junior needs to say this so the deep state does not go after him, but everyone in the know realizes this is just the signal for the faithful to vote for Junior in the Georgia runoffs.
Thank Junior for his hard work fighting the deep state by writing in his name on January 5th!

Such a RINO, junior. Any true patriot knows to boycott this senate runoff. It's a joke.

This makes ZERO sense. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are DEEP STATE and CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
True Patriots BOYCOTT the Georgia Runoffs.

Georgia turned it's back on Trump. Georgia run-off voters should turn their back on GOP Senate candidates.

But Jr., the vote is fixed, right? Why should people vote if it’s fixed? Makes more sense for them to boycott, don’t you think?

I wouldn't vote. It's all rigged anyway. pic.twitter.com/DQOcfKn49Z
