Furious Trump attacks Michelle Obama twice in one morning over fiery DNC speech

The showstopper of last night’s opening night of the Democratic National Convention was certainly the fiery speech given by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who delivered an impassioned message of hope and a resounding takedown of our negligent, ignorant, narcissist president.

This did not sit well with the President, whose hardwired misogyny and racism always come roaring out whenever he’s faced with criticism from a woman — especially a woman of color.

Trump took to Twitter this morning and slammed Michelle Obama for her husband’s tenure, blaming President Obama for Trump’s election and dismissing Joe Biden as an “afterthought.”

Unable to let it go, the president again attacked the former First Lady this morning in an impromptu press pool on the lawn of the White House, launching into a wild and incoherent series of angry babbles complaining that the First Lady “taped” her speech and doing that thing he does where he talks about problems in America as if he’s solved them.

His obsessive need to hit back at Michelle Obama shows just how deep she got under his skin — and, if we’re reading into it a little deeper, how envious he is of her eloquence.

“Let me be as honest and clear as I possibly can. Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is…

Sadly, this is the America that is on display for the next generation. A nation that’s underperforming not simply on matters of policy, but on matters of character. And that’s not just disappointing; it’s downright infuriating, because I know the goodness and the grace that is out there in households and neighborhoods all across this nation…And I know that regardless of our race, age, religion or politics, when we close out the noise and the fear and truly open our hearts, we know that what’s going on in this country is just not right. This is not who we want to be,” said Michelle Obama last night.

We couldn’t agree more.
