Finnish president laughs in Trump’s face as he blew up at reporter for asking about whistleblower scandal

An increasingly frustrated and pressured President Trump went entirely off the rails in his press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, exploding in a wild outburst of anger at Reuters reporter Jeff Mason for daring to ask him about what Trump wanted Ukranian President Zelensky to “do” about former Vice-President Biden and his son Hunter.

Mason was, of course, referring to the now-infamous phone call between Trump and Zelensky in which the American president asked his counterpart to “look into” Joe Biden for pushing to get former Ukranian prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin fired. A whistleblower’s exposure of that phone call and the subsequent release of its transcript lead to the beginning of impeachment hearings.

On the defensive and feeling increasingly resentful of the media’s prying questions, Trump lost his cool and unloaded on Mason while Niinistö chuckled uncomfortably.

Add your name to tell Congress to investigate Pence for his role in Trump’s Ukraine corruption. The VP is complicit!

When Mason turned to the Finnish president and asked him if he was concerned for American democracy after Niinistö urged Trump to “keep [democracy] going,” Trump rudely jumped in and hijacked the question to focus on trade, ranting about how America was “winning now” with a manic edge to his voice.

The president’s body language and aura of hostility is extremely disturbing to behold. It bodes very poorly for the future if he’s already this unstable less than a week into impeachment. It’s clear that the very idea of being forced to answer for anything is utterly incomprehensible to him; we are watching a spoiled old man discover accountability for the first time in his entire life, and it is going to be very, very messy.
