Trump says he’d get the “electric chair” if he said what Joe Biden said

As the man who has done more to exemplify the psychological concept of “projection” —  the defense mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others — than any  other person since Sigmund Freud conceptualized the idea, Donald Trump often unknowingly makes comments that are easily applied to his own actions.

Projection seemed to be the operative principle in Trump’s accusations towards one of his major Democratic rivals in next year’s presidential election while he spoke to the press during a bilateral meeting at the UN with Polish President Andrzej Duda today.

The president held his typical antagonistic stance towards the journalists that he deems “Fake News” when they accurately report on his scandal du jour and insulted them to their faces as they asked him point-blank whether he had committed the impeachable offense he has been alleged to have participated in by seeking foreign help in finding dirt on Joe Biden and his family.

One can imagine that Trump would rather not divulge the contents of the call that he could so easily release from the standpoint of all the other conversations he has, especially since the unspoken implication of his explanation is that his other conversations could be even more incriminating.

The real dive into the psychological projection, however, comes with Trump’s ludicrous claim that “if a Republican ever did what Joe Biden did … they’d be getting the electric chair right now,” indicating that Trump’s unconscious mind could be quite fixated on the consequences of his alleged misdeeds while his conscious brain knows quite well what his potential fate may be and works furiously to pin the blame elsewhere.

With Trump even projecting his own dishonesty onto the journalists who stand before him, one must ask how much longer before he is held accountable for his own “crooked” presidency since he seems so certain that the penalty for corruption will be the electric chair.

With that end in mind, even the most strict environmentalists would forgive whatever carbon footprint is generated by the power needed to activate that electric chair that figures so prominently in Trump’s unconscious.
