The battle between Donald Trump and his short-tenured former Communications Director raged on today as Anthony Scaramucci shot back at the president a day after Trump tweeted a vicious attack on his ex-staffer and brought his wife into the battle for good measure.
….got fired. Wrote a very nice book about me just recently. Now the book is a lie? Said his wife was driving him crazy, “something big” was happening with her. Getting divorced. He was a mental wreck. We didn’t want him around. Now Fake News puts him on like he was my buddy!

Trump has been furious with Scaramucci since his former mouthpiece began a media blitz in recent days questioning the president’s current mental fitness and announcing on CNN yesterday that he would be working with a team of former Cabinet members to warn the nation about the danger that Trump poses to America and to find a Republican challenger to the president in 2020.
“I predict in middle or late fall there will be a trove of people that will come together in unity to say this is what’s going on. This is how the person’s acting. This is why there’s nobody inside the White House he’s taking any advice from,” Scaramucci said on CNN’s New Day.
Trump’s dragging of Scaramucci’s marriage into the fray, however, only inspired the Italian-American New Yorker to double down on his resolve to bring the president down.
First, the former Communications Director wrote a scathing op-ed in The Washington Post that explained the reasons for his break with his ex-employer and challenged fellow Republicans to speak up with their privately-expressed concerns about Trump.
“I broke from Trump because not only has his behavior become more erratic and his rhetoric more inflammatory, but also because, like all demagogues, he is incapable of handling constructive criticism. As we lie on the bed of nails Trump has made, it’s often difficult to see how much the paradigm of acceptable conduct has shifted. For the Republican Party, it’s now a question of whether we want to start cleaning up the mess or continue papering over the cracks,” Scaramucci wrote.
Then, responding to a critical comment on another nasty tweet sent by Trump — made by someone who could scarcely believe what our POTUS spends his time on — Scaramucci replied with a tweet that sounded like it originated from a long-time member of “the resistance” with his description of the president’s character and his ultimate fate.
Adding to that he is attacking my wife who is a civilian a private citizen, a mom of 2 young children. He is despicable and will be rooted out of the system before his Orange cancer metatasizes. @realDonaldTrump a COWARD who goes after suburban housewives and their children https://t.co/wYD6nvERuH

While trying to rally Republican opposition to Trump may sound like a fool’s errand at this point in time, Trump’s plummeting poll numbers — which can eventually threaten the re-election prospects of many a Republican politician — may soon drive nervous GOP legislators right into Scaramucci’s arms.
While their embrace of Trump has driven the political reputations of many a Republican into toxic territory, as they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Any member of the GOP willing to renounce the president and his heinous agenda should be a welcome partner, at least until the “Orange cancer” is excised from the White House.
