Trump just publicly trashed Chris Cuomo in an insulting tirade to the press

Last night, a clip of CNN anchor Chris Cuomo went viral in the right-wing media ecosystem. In it, Cuomo is accosted by a heckler who refers to him as “Fredo,” the cowardly, treasonous younger brother from “The Godfather.” Rather than take the harassment lying down, Cuomo angrily confronted the man in what seemed to many to be a justifiable reaction. Even Sean Hannity defended Cuomo’s actions.

Of course, the Trumps are never ones to miss an opportunity to launch a bad-faith attack against someone they deem to be an enemy so it was only a matter of time before they sought to exploit the video. Donald Trump Jr., the president’s absurdly incompetent son, took a shot at Cuomo in which he inadvertently implied he’s the dumb Trump brother.

This morning, the president himself went after the CNN anchor, feigning offense at his “filthy language” and his “total loss of control,” labeling Cuomo “nuts.” One should hardly need reminding that Trump is a lifelong vulgarian who has bragged on tape about sexually assaulting women.  This man could not care one iota less about the use of “filthy language” and his pearl-clutching is downright laughable.

Trump followed up the first tweet a few hours later by complaining that Youtube had removed a copy of the viral Cuomo video.

The tweets clearly weren’t enough to get his Cuomo fixation out of his system as he attacked him again while talking to reporters. Trump called the anchor’s behavior and language “horrible” and said he looked like a “total out of control animal” who “lost it.”

The most dishonest president in American history then accused Cuomo of “spewing lies” on CNN every night, a singularly hypocritical accusation coming from a man as pathologically incapable of telling the truth as Trump.

“You’ve never seen me do that,” Trump added. One would have to be a full-blown MAGA fool to believe that Trump — infamous for his hot temper and foul mouth — actually disapproves of Cuomo’s response to the heckler. He’s just trying to score cheap points against the “fake news media” that he despises so deeply.  As usual, the president is engaged in the most pathetic form of politicking.
