White supremacists may be many things — deplorable, racist, violent, sinful, embarrassments to humanity — but one quality they tend not to possess is intelligence.
That was proven once again by a proverbial “Florida man” who was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) after making an ominous threat in a Facebook post.
26-year-old Richard D. Clayton from Winter Park — an apparent follower of white supremacist ideology — was arrested after a joint investigation by FDLE, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Winter Park Police Department for a Facebook post that no one with half a brain would even think of posting, especially after the violent shootings by an avowed white nationalist hunting Mexicans at an El Paso Walmart.

The police took Clayton seriously when they interpreted his Facebook post literally that stated “3 more days of probation left then I get my AR-15 back. Don’t go to Walmart next week.”
According to a statement from law enforcement officials, “investigators say Clayton appears to believe in the white supremacist ideology and has a history of posting threats on Facebook using fictitious accounts.” They also revealed that he was not actually on probation.
According to a report by Orlando television station WESH, Clayton was uncooperative and belligerent when taken into custody yesterday.
“Clayton allegedly told an officer, ‘I hope that the next call you go to you get blown away and killed.’ An arrest report said the man then asked if the officer was Hispanic, saying ‘They are what is wrong with this country. They come in and are ruining everything.'”
“Clayton also asked the arresting officer if he was a Nazi multiple times, the report said.”
“The arrest report said while being taken to jail, Clayton began taking out his genitals and told the officer he was going to pee in his car. When the officer told Clayton he wasn’t Hispanic, Clayton replied he wouldn’t pee in his car, according to the report.”
Class is another quality in short supply among white supremacists.
At least one more potential mass murderer is off the street. One has to wonder whether this Florida man would have ever even had the nerve to express his racist sentiments publicly if Donald Trump had never been elected.
How far this country has fallen.
