Trump just viciously insulted a black CNN anchor to prove he’s not racist

Last night, CNN hosted the first night of the second round of Democratic debates. While there were some significant differences between many of the candidates — with some sounding far better prepared to be president than others — it’s undeniable that any single one of them would be a vast improvement over Donald Trump.

At one point, the candidates were asked by CNN’s Don Lemon about Trump’s clear plan to stoke racial divisions as a reelection strategy. The question comes in the wake of the nonstop attacks Trump has launched against prominent people of color, including four Democratic Congresswomen, Rep. Elijah Cummings, and Civil Rights icon Al Sharpton.

One would have to be a fool or a Trump supporter acting in bad faith to argue that it’s mere coincidence that he chose these specific people. The president wants his racist supporters to see him smearing and belittling nonwhites because he thinks it will drive them to the ballot box for him en masse.

Now, Trump has taken to Twitter to lash out at Don Lemon for his perfectly fair question about the president’s racist reelection plan. Trump labeled Lemon the “dumbest man on television,” a description which would better fit Trump himself or any of his numerous braindead Fox News sycophants.

It should be noted that Don Lemon is Black, so he offers Trump another chance to ignite a feud with a person of color and by calling him the “dumbest man on television” he’s overtly stating that all of the white anchors are smarter.

The president repeated his ludicrous and frankly laughable claim that he is “the least racist person in the world.” The claim is so ridiculous in fact, that one can’t help but see it as Trump mocking the entire conversation about his bigotry. No reasonable person could actually believe that there is not a single person less racist than Trump on the entire planet, so him claiming so is him giving his supporters a sort of wink that he doesn’t care about giving a serious refutation of the racism accusations.

Trump added that Lemon needs to be more “neutral, unbiased, & fair.” Of course, since the president is demonstrably a racist, calling him out for it is the only real way to be neutral and fair. To pretend he isn’t a bigot after all he’s done is to be biased on his behalf.

Never one to tire of insulting the intelligence of people of color, the president called Lemon “too dumb (stupid)” to understand journalistic neutrality. He rounded out his shameful Twitter performance by attacking the ratings of CNN and MSNBC, something the reality television host is obsessed with.

By the end of the tweetstorm not only had President Trump not disproved the claims that he is a racist, he’d strengthened them even further. This man is a disgrace to his office and as long as he is in power our country will continue to crack apart along racial lines. He must be voted out.
