A parade of Republicans for impeachment, many who have left the GOP because of Trump’s racism and lies, just took to Twitter to trash their former party’s complicity with Russia’s election interference schemes and defense of the president.

MSNBC morning host Joe Scarborough used to be a GOP Congressman in the same conservative district currently represented by Florida man Matt Gaetz. Scarborough’s unequivocal condemnation of his former party went viral during the Mueller hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee, quickly racking up over six thousand retweets and over forty thousand likes.

Jesus, forgive me for ever being a Republican.

Kurt Bardella is a former House Oversight Committee senior policy advisor to the GOP, who found his voice after switching to the Democratic party. He noted that the president engaged a blatant, public lie in the run-up to Mueller’s testimony today, which he belied by live-tweeting the hearing that revealed evidence of his criminal acts.
Guess he’s taking a break from presiding over the capture, detention and torture of children https://t.co/btySEhs57g

Bardella also took the time to debunk one GOP Congresswoman’s fatally false line of argument, a screed that didn’t even bother with a question for Mueller. That’s because any question she asked of the Special Counsel would have been self-defeating as the former GOP staffer explained.

Hey Republicans … the plea agreement w/Manafort included a forfeiture of more than $40 million in cash, insurance policies, & real estate (worth an estimated $22 million). The #MuellerReport didn't cost taxpayers anything … it actually made money. #Mueller #MuellerHearing

US Naval War College and Harvard professor Tom Nichols is a noted conservative commentator who left the GOP after the Kavanaugh hearings revealed the party’s win at all costs mentality.
I’ve never been prouder to be an ex-Republican than today.

Schiff’s five minutes and Mueller’s answers would have been enough for Republicans to impeach and convict any other president before sundown today.

Florida-based former GOP operative Rick Wilson poked at Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) who is well known as one of the least intellectually capable Republicans in the land.
Louie Gohmert is talking about credibility.
That's rich.

Former Kansas House Republican Tom Coleman tweeted an excellent summary of the first Mueller hearing in just two tweets. First, he slammed the congresspeople who chose to represent the president and not their districts.

Gosh, Republicans calling Mueller "un-American" Going into the gutter and probably will be in the sewer before Mueller's appearance is over. Dems should yield their time to the GOP members!! Public will be disgusted with this.
— Tom Coleman (@RepTomColeman) July 24, 2019
Then, Coleman explained the bottom line of the House Judiciary Committee’s damning hearing against Trump.
Dems are doing a good job in bringing out the facts. GOP members are left to argue conspiracies and grievances on behalf of Trump. How many Republicans on the Judiciary Comm. have been dangled a position in the Trump administration? Talk about possible conflicts!
— Tom Coleman (@RepTomColeman) July 24, 2019
It has taken years for some Republicans to quit the party, disavow Trump and for the Special Counsel’s office to produce the damning report that shows how a foreign government became heavily invested and active in electing a GOP president.
Hopefully, their friends that are still Republicans take careful note of these condemnations of the party and leave the GOP sooner rather than later.
