Trump just projected his fear with a wild tweetstorm about Mueller and Dems

President Trump kicked off the beginning of the week by unleashing one of his trademark tweetstorms, hitting on a range of topics that clearly have him worried this morning. He took aim at The Washington Post for running a story alleging that the president’s advisors cooked up “new talking points” and “reams of opposition research” for him to use against the four Democratic Congresswomen he has been attacking.

Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley — all women of color — have been targeted by Trump with racist smears. He said they should go back to their own countries, even though all except Omar are native-born Americans. Trump also looked on in approval as a crowd at one of his rallies chanted “send her back” about Omar, a Somali-American refugee.

In his morning tweet, Trump essentially claimed full credit for his bigotry, insisting that his advisors didn’t help steer his attacks and that reporting that he had help is a move intended to “demean” and “belittle” him. The fact that he is claiming sole responsibility for his words shows he has no intention of backtracking and indeed will probably sink even deeper into hate-based rhetoric and xenophobia as the 2020 election draws closer.

The president then pivoted to attack the “Mainstream Media” as “out of control,” one of his most shopworn and dishonest talking points. He — the most mendacious president in history— has the gall to complain about lying and cheating, saying that the media wants to help the “Radical Left Democrat views.” In a laughable display of hypocrisy, Trump said that the media no longer cares about “what is right or wrong,” which is something that this philandering, cheating, racist rapist of a man has never cared about his entire life.

He repeated his frequent authoritarian cry that the news media is the “Enemy of the People,” demonstrating once again how little he thinks of the First Amendment.

Special Counsel Mueller is set to testify before Congress on Wednesday about his report on Russian interference and presumably, questions will arise about his findings that President Trump may have sought to obstruct justice on at least ten occasions. The president appears to be deeply worried about what Mueller might say because he decided to attack him in his tweetstorm.

Trump called the deeply respected and, by all accounts, trustworthy Mueller “highly conflicted,” hoping to undermine his credibility right out of the gate. He went on to say that Mueller should not be “given another bite at the apple,” which is clearly him saying that the Wednesday testimony should be abandoned.

“In the end it will be bad for him and the phony Democrats,” he went on, accusing Mueller and Dems of “wasting time” with a “Witch Hunt.” Of course, the staggering number of indictments and convictions yielded by the Mueller investigation definitively prove it was not a witch hunt.

As he is apt to do, Trump attempted to switch focus to Hillary Clinton, casting criminal aspersions on her and her team and trotting out his usual conspiracy theory nonsense about Mueller’s probe being corrupt. At this point, this transparent deflection ploy should be obvious to anyone except Trump’s most diehard fans.

Trump rounded out his morning by once again attacking the four Democratic Congresswomen he has been going after nonstop. Stunningly, our racist president accused the women of being “very racist” and “troublemakers,” the former being a deeply ironic accusation and the latter deeply condescending. He added that they are “young, inexperienced, and not very smart.” The tweet had all the class of a schoolyard bully and shows once again what a petty, crude, and awful man our president is.
