President Trump’s embarrassing verbal gaffes have proven to be the rare rays of light in an otherwise incredibly dark time. They give us a chance to momentarily step away from all the cruelty and travesty and come together to mock this man mercilessly and laugh at the scrambled eggs that he refers to as his “very large brain.”

Recently, he humiliated himself by stating publicly that soldiers “took over airports” during the Revolutionary War, a debacle which he later tried to blame on a teleprompter malfunctioning. Before that, he claimed that the Moon was “a part” of Mars.
Now, Trump has wheeled out another doozy, this time eschewing aviatic anachronisms and astronomical inaccuracies for anatomical ignorance. While speaking about kidney care in advance of his signing of an executive order aimed at focusing on these particularly crucial organs, the president rambled about how “very special” the kidney is. Then he unleashed his cluelessness.
“The kidney has a very special place in the heart. It’s an incredible thing,” said Trump. The kidney is, of course, not located inside the heart.
The most generous interpretation of his words is that he meant it metaphorically, that kidneys have a “special place” in the hearts of people who work with them, but his intonation was so strange and his broad and deep ignorance so well-documented that one can’t rule out the possibility that the President of the United States believes the kidneys are literally buried inside the ventricles of the heart.
In moments like these, as funny as they are, one can’t help but pine for the days when we had a man of real intellect and erudition in the White House. Someone who thought before he spoke and who, when he spoke, inspired us to listen. President Obama, in other words, knows where the kidneys are located.

At first I thought this might just be clumsy phrasing, but the way he slows down and emphasizes "in the heart" makes me think, no, he believes the kidney is literally in the heart. https://t.co/ZZIkvn3aIy
