Trump just accidentally exposed why his concentration camp conditions are so harsh in telling tweet

The ongoing horrors unfolding along the border in the Trump administration’s detention camps are inexcusable and unforgivable. Families are being torn apart, children are dying, sexual abuse is rampant and yet the majority of the Republican Party seems to either not care or somehow even think it’s justified, so deeply does their animosity for nonwhites run.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) visited the facilities this week and reported on shocking conditions. She said that migrants are being forced to drink out of toilets and some are being subjected to “psychological warfare” with guards waking them up at random hours and degrading the women by calling them “whores” and other dehumanizing slurs.

It’s a humanitarian crisis and chilling proof of the depravity and nihilistic cruelty that this administration is capable of. No person with a soul can look at what’s unfolding right now and not feel their heart breaking.

Today, Trump addressed the situation in an incredibly calloused fashion. He tweeted that if the migrant detainees are “unhappy” with the conditions inside the camps which he claims were “quickly built or refitted” the simple solution is for them “not to come” in the first place. Of course, this is completely useless to those already imprisoned and a craven refusal to accept responsibility for the camps.

More importantly, it’s an implicit admission that conditions are horrendous. His little hand waved excuse that they were “quickly built” is just that, and does nothing to alleviate the mass suffering we are witnessing.

Rather than trying to make conditions a bit more humane, this monster of a man would rather blame his victims, implying that their mere decision to seek a better life means they deserve whatever is inflicted on them. Every day these camps stay open we lose a little bit more of what makes us American. They have to go, and so does Trump.
