Yesterday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) visited some of the Trump administration’s detention centers along the southern border and reported on the shockingly inhumane conditions she witnessed. Horrifyingly, she learned that women are being forced to drink out of toilets. Migrant detainees also told her that guards have been waging “psychological warfare” on them by waking them up at random hours and referring to them as “whores” as well as other slurs.
In response, the administration trotted out serial liar Kellyanne Conway to slam AOC for her comments. Conway called the claim that migrants are drinking out of toilets “outrageous” and said AOC’s trip was nothing more than an exploitative photo-op.
Now, Representative Ocasio-Cortez has hit back. She bluntly asked how many migrant women Kellyanne Conway has herself touched, hugged, sat with on a concrete floor, or listened to.
“The answer is none,” answered AOC to her own rhetorical question, pointing out that Conway’s own actions demonstrate that she “doesn’t believe all human beings are worthy of basic dignity,” a fact which is self-evident in the fact that she continues to shill for a deeply racist and systematically cruel regime. Conway long ago discarded any shred of credibility she had and is transparently concerned with nothing beyond pleasing Trump in the interest of maintaining her grip on power.
Choosing who to believe between AOC and Conway is a no-brainer. Conway has a long history of lying when it suits herself or her boss, and Ocasio-Cortez has a record of advocating for the downtrodden and marginalized in good faith.
How many migrant women has Kellyanne Conway touched? Hugged? Sat on a concrete floor with? Actually listened to?
The answer is none. Her actions show she doesn’t believe all human beings are worthy of basic dignity.
That‘s why she defends & muddies the clear and indefensible. https://t.co/NHMeI6Bx5r

Conway responded in her usual disingenuous fashion by stating that AOC voted against a $4.6 billion bill, saying that she opposed humanitarian aid for the migrants. In reality, Ocasio-Cortez voted against it because she didn’t want even more tax dollars flowing to the jackbooted thugs at ICE or being used to construct additional inhumane facilities. AOC wants to help the people suffering, not further enrich their oppressors.
Trump’s right-hand woman doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to this issue, and her pathetic attempt to smear AOC shows how little propaganda ammunition they have left. There is no real way to defend their atrocities along the border and they know it.
How many migrant women did @AOC help by voting AGAINST the $4.6 billion bipartisan humanitarian aid that is FOR THEM?
(She even voted against the Democrat aid package).
All talk, no dollars. https://t.co/kwNEFwSFNR

Unsurprisingly, AOC saw to it that the the attack blew up in Kellyanne’s face as well.
The $4.6 billion wasn’t humanitarian at all. It had NO accountability measures for facilities that abuse children and families. It didn’t fix the problem, just funded abuse.
I don’t believe in billion dollar blank checks for unethical, abusive administrations. Including yours. https://t.co/IzWJKWUxaN

Also @KellyannePolls, maybe you actually do your job and show up to a Congressional hearing next time you want to talk to me.
After all you, you ran away and skipped out on Oversight committee last week, just to call into Fox and Friends instead. 🤷🏽♀️ https://t.co/IzWJKWUxaN

Our entire nation would be better served if Trump and his cronies took the Representative’s advice. Stay off Twitter and start complying with Constitutionally required Congressional oversight.
