President Trump continues to struggle with his own unpopularity. The latest Gallup poll shows his job approval rating has dipped to 40%, which should be a major cause for concern considering the fact that impeachment is finally on the table.

The Mueller report pointed to the president attempting to obstruct justice on ten different occasions. Mueller himself then subsequently explained that he could not have charged Trump anyway because of Department of Justice rules preventing the indictment of a sitting president. Instead, Mueller obliquely alluded to impeachment being the only way to hold Trump accountable

The president knows that if his approval ratings drop too low, impeachment proceedings will become an even more attractive avenue for the Democrats in control of the House and perhaps even some moderate Republicans in the Senate. An unpopular president with legitimate grounds for impeachment stands on very shaky ground indeed.
Rather than trying to boost his numbers to protect himself though, he is retreating from reality and insisting that he is actually — or should actually be — much better liked than he really is. Trump took to Twitter today to claim that he would be polling 15 or 25 points higher because of the “tremendous success with the economy” which he insists might be the country’s “Best Ever” if it weren’t for the “totally Corrupt Media.”
The implication is either that the media is cooking the numbers with the polls, or that the public hates him solely because of the negative coverage of him. Both explanations are equally ridiculous. The media certainly isn’t lying about the polls and news networks are not unfair to Trump, with the obvious exception of Fox News which is unfairly laudatory towards him considering what a colossal failure his administration has proven to be. If he wants to be seen as a better president he should be a better president.

Our delusional leader ended his tweet by insisting that everything is going just great, despite the “Fake News.” Clearly, he knows everything is not going great for him. This is not the tweet of a man confident in his ability to maintain support or win reelection.

Perhaps this sudden outburst was spurred by the fact that the Democratic frontrunner right now, former Vice President Joe Biden, is polling as much as 13 points higher than Trump in some polls. The president is worried, as he well should be. His days in the Oval Office are numbered.
If the totally Corrupt Media was less corrupt, I would be up by 15 points in the polls based on our tremendous success with the economy, maybe Best Ever! If the Corrupt Media was actually fair, I would be up by 25 points. Nevertheless, despite the Fake News, we’re doing great!

Understandably, Twitter users were less than kind to the president over his pathetic tweet.
“If my English teacher ignored my atrocious grammar, nonsensical argument, plagiarism, inadherence to MLA format, and the fact that my research paper is currently on fire, I’d easily have a 100 instead of a 17.”

If your approval rating wasn’t low, it would be higher. Got it. Bigly brains.

If you stopped name calling on Twitter, if you didn’t worship murderous dictators, and if you stopped your attacks on American companies, among many other numerous flaws, maybe your ratings would be up.

If the media reported accurately on all your crimes, you would be out of office. You should be sending Speaker Pelosi a thank you note every day that you have not yet been impeached. Hopefully, that changes, and soon. #ImpeachTrump #trump #IndictTrump
