Michael Wolff, the man who threw Washington into disarray with his insider tell-all about the Trump administration “Fire and Fury” has a follow-up slated for release in June titled “Siege: Trump Under Fire.” While we’ll just have to wait to see all of the new shocking revelations contained within, excerpts have begun to emerge and they are sure to infuriate the thin-skinned authoritarian currently squatting inside the White House.

One of the more shocking tidbits is about an inarguably anti-semitic comment uttered by Donald Trump. According to Wolff, after the president found out that his longtime fixer and attorney Michael Cohen, a Jewish man, had agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, he lashed out.

“The Jews always flip,” Trump allegedly said to some of his associates. The excerpt, reported on by The Guardian, shows that the president’s accusations of antisemitism leveled against Democrats like Representative Ilhan Omar (MN) were made in complete bad faith, something many suspected at the time. Trump himself is an anti-Semite.

When one takes this comment and considers it within the broader context of Trump’s presidency, with the spike in hate crimes that has occurred since he took office, including the tragic mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue, a chilling picture emerges. This is, after all, the same man who insisted that there were “very fine people on both sides” when talking about Neo-Nazis and the people counter protesting them.

Clearly, a man who harbors such deeply anti-semitic prejudices as those implied by the comment in Wolff’s book cares little about the fate of American Jews. This bigotry would easily explain why he has failed to take broader action to protect them or condemn the hateful anti-Semites who have been targeting them since he took office. Such beliefs are utterly unacceptable in a president and frankly add another compelling reason to impeach him. Every American should be disgusted.
