Trump just took to Twitter to launch ominous threats and insulting harassment at foriegn country

Donald Trump’s horrendous dogwhistle racism has once again surged to the forefront of his rhetoric. In his neverending campaign to keep his base aggrieved and incited against people of color, he has decided to go after Mexico for the umpteenth time.

This morning he took to Twitter to voice his “disappointment” with Mexico as if our southern neighbor and ally cares one whit about his disappointment at this point. He has belittled and demonized their nation for the past few years now, so any efforts he makes to appear acting in good faith are laughable.

Specifically, Trump complained that Mexico is doing “virtually nothing” to stop undocumented immigrants from crossing the border and then decided he would also blame Democrats for our immigration laws. As usual, the president is lying.

Mexico engages in numerous cooperative agreements with U.S. Border Patrol to curtail undocumented immigration and smuggling. It should also go without saying that Democrats are not to blame for the current situation at the border and in fact, Trump’s idiotic focus on building a wasteful wall has completely shut down any discourse around real solutions.

Trump then mischaracterized Mexico’s view on immigration by asserting that they believe people should be able to “flow into the U.S.” and that Mexico believes that American taxpayers should be responsible for caring for these immigrants. This is, of course, not Mexico’s opinion on immigration but instead a right-wing fever dream that Trump knows his xenophobic supporters will lap up eagerly.

The president ended by asserting that Mexico is “wrong” despite the fact that everything he wrote in these tweets is objectively wrong.

He threatened an ominous “response” that he will soon be giving. Whatever it turns out to be, one can be sure it will be yet another disaster from a man who is incapable of doing anything right. Perhaps we’ll see more job-killing tariffs or even further militarization of the border. Whatever it turns out to be, the duty will fall to every patriotic American to voice their opposition.
