This afternoon, President Trump spoke to a crowd of realtors and in his usual fashion eventually went entirely off the rails and began complaining about everything that was bothering him at the time — and as usual, the media were a prominent target of his.
Frustrated by the media’s use of unnamed sources in the recent leaks about his administration’s dangerous provocations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its plans to possibly deploy as many as 120,000 troops to the Middle East in order to “respond” to any “Iranian attacks” on U.S. forces in the region, Trump declared that it was “total bullshit” and assured the audience that all of the sources were just made up.

“Do you ever notice they never write the names of people anymore? Everything is ‘a source says.’ There is no source. The person doesn’t exist. The person’s not alive. It’s bullshit, OK? It’s bullshit!” whined Trump.
The president has long been tortured by the constant leaks that have poured from his White House ever since the early days of his administration; the urgency with which Trump hunts for and punishes insubordinate leakers has only forced more and more of them to remain anonymous.
However, the situation may also be that the president is incapable of conceiving of anonymous sources being anything other than entirely fabricated, considering that Donald Trump himself spent decades calling up reporters and pretending to his own publicist or spokesman in order to talk himself up and get positive coverage in the news.
In any case, it’s clear that he’s angry that the media is making it clear that he does not have full control of what’s going on behind the scenes in his own administration, and that insecurity is wearing away at what little is left of his sanity — which is deeply concerning since the matter at hand could result in what is sure to be a devastating international war with a major power.
