The Republican Party’s descent into irredeemable immorality and predation continues today with news that GOP legislators in Oklahoma have been caught on mic discussing sexual misconduct.

KWTV-News 9 reports that State Rep. Mark McBride (R) and State Rep. Scott Fetgatter (R) discussed molestation during a chat right before a press conference held by Governor Kevin Stitt (R). The comments were made in the vicinity of a hot mic, which in turn exposed them.

While Fetgatter is now trying to spin the conversation as a joke, the recording itself sounds like they are completely serious.
“So you molested this girl after Kannady did?” asked McBride.
“No, I was at the table, so I allowed it,” replied Fetgatter.

“You allowed it to happen? You knew it was all going on. Wow,” McBride can be heard responding before asking, “Are you sure it wasn’t a donkey or a goat?”

The conversation was presumably a reference to an ongoing sexual misconduct investigation into State Rep. Chris Kannady (R). Kannady has been accused of being involved in an incident in which several male state representatives cornered a female state representative at a restaurant in Oklahoma City and forced her to watch a pornographic video. Kannady allegedly felt up her leg during the attack.
Suffice to say, there is absolutely nothing funny about this alleged incident. If McBridge and Fetgatter really were just joking, they should be ashamed of themselves. Fetgatter’s comment in particular, that he “allowed it” is particularly damning and vile even if he wasn’t serious.

A hot mic caught Reps. Fetgatter and McBride having a casual chat about failing to stop a woman from being sexually assaulted. With Fetgatter’s shocking apparent admission, these allegations have now become fully credible.

To hear the full remarks, skip the to the four-minute mark.
Like every Republican exposed for indecent behavior, Fetgatter has offered an apology that isn’t really an apology:
“My comments have been taken out of context and were only in response to a question directed toward me. I apologize if my remarks in any way trivialized the serious nature of sexual assault. To be clear I have never seen anything inappropriate happen or sexual harassment occur during my time in the House of Representatives.”
As disturbing as this incident is, it’s hardly surprising given the depraved state of the modern GOP. The party is led by an admitted sexual predator who has been accused by numerous women of sexual misconduct and rape. This is the same party that supported an accused pedophile for a Senate seat in Alabama. The Republican Party has no moral core, and stories like this will continue to emerge until these men start finally being held accountable for their actions.
