Is domestic terrorism in the United States being exported internationally? The latest news from Tijuana, Mexico indicates that this could just be the case.

According to Televisa, the largest Mexican broadcasting company, two people driving a black Chevy truck with Utah plates hit 15 vehicles and mowed down 15 roadside vendors with their truck on the Tijuana side of the border crossing at the San Ysidro Port of Entry near San Diego, California this afternoon.

According to Tijuana Police Chief Mario Martinez, prior to what appears to have been a deliberate act of vehicular violence, the two people in the truck were involved in a fight that they instigated with a pedestrian in the Mexican border city.

Just minutes after that incident they reportedly drove to the border control station where, according to an eyewitness report told to ABC News‘ San Diego affiliate, they first hit 3 vehicles waiting in line to pass through immigration and customs inspections before stopping.

“I heard boom, boom, boom,” the anonymous witness who was waiting to cross the border told KGTV. After their truck was surrounded by a crowd, “His wife turned to him and said ‘Go, go, go’,” said the eyewitness.

The fleeing driver then took off and plowed into around 15 street vendors who sell their wares on the roadside to the people in the queue to clear immigrqati0on at the border, hitting additional cars waiting in line along the way.

A total of four people were seriously injured in the incident, including one with severe injuries, Police Chief Martinez told Televisa. The occupants of the Utah registered truck — assumed at this point to be American citizens — were arrested and taken to the hospital for medical attention after the crash.

So far, there has been no word from the U.S, Customs and Border Protection about the incident and Mexican authorities have not offered any speculation on the possible motives for the crash or whether the arrested offenders were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

While it is too early to tell if today’s incident is another example of the type of vehicular terrorism that has become an all too frequent tactic of radicals with varying agendas around the world, it has many of the hallmarks that previous such terror attacks have shown.

With the alarmist anti-immigrant rhetoric being promoted on a daily basis by President Trump and his right-wing propaganda factories at Fox News and the multitude of alt-right websites, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to discover that the motivation for today’s violence was due to anti-immigrant sentiment.
