Ted Lieu just unveiled a brilliant new way to punish Barr for his Mueller Report shenanigans

By choosing to shill for Donald Trump rather than uphold and defend the law on behalf of the American people, Attorney General William Barr has disgraced and beclowned himself in service to a vile, incompetent hatemonger and done perhaps irreparable damage to the credibility of the Justice Department.

We now know that Special Counsel Robert Mueller sent a letter to Barr after the AG released his brief summary of the official Russia investigation report. In it, Mueller said that Barr “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office’s work and conclusions.” The obvious explanation is that Barr went out of his way to make the report sound better for Trump than it really is.

Yesterday, Barr cravenly refused to show up to testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee, further cementing the impression that he has no interest in helping the public ascertain the truth of the Russia investigation and Trump’s criminality. Instead, Barr would much rather shield the man who appointed him AG. It’s rank partisanship of the worst kind and a profound dereliction of duty.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has officially accused Barr of breaking the law by misleading the public during his testimony to Congress, which means the Democratic Party is planning to take major actions against the AG and President Trump. Luckily for the American people, the blue wave which gave control of the House of Representatives to the Democrats during the most recent midterms means they finally have real power to combat the blatant corruption and criminality of this administration.

Now, Politico reports that Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) have devised a new line attack against Barr, and are urging the bar associations of Washington D.C. and Virginia to undertake ethics investigations into Barr’s behavior.

The Dems in question say that AG Barr “at best misled Congress” and “at worst perjured himself” when he claimed to Congress during testimony this week that he didn’t know why some of Mueller’s team didn’t like the way he characterized their report in his official summary. He did know in fact know since Mueller sent him the aforementioned letter.

Lieu and Rice added that the bar rules for both demand “Candor Toward the Tribunal,” which in this case would be Congress. The rules also strictly prohibit “dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation which reflects adversely on the lawyer’s fitness to practice law.”

Join millions calling for AG Barr to resign after he defied his constitutional obligations to protect Trump!
