The Baylor Lady Bears, the winners of the NCAA national championship, were invited to visit the president at the White House today and — for whatever reason — they decided to go.
The star athletes were in turn treated to Donald Trump’s infamous “hospitality,” which means they were served up a smattering of assorted fast foods. This is not the first time Trump has elected to feed his guests McDonald’s and Burger King instead of having the world famous White House chefs prepare something more refined for them, but it’s no less bizarre or funny for having happened before.
While Trump’s personal affection for fast food is well-known, at this point it almost feels like he does this just to make the news and troll those who dislike him. There is also something of a condescending and tactical element here, in that Trump probably thinks he is pandering to working class people by rejecting high-class dining for food eaten by everyday Americans.

Athletes generally avoid eating unhealthy cuisine of the kind so beloved by our overweight president, but the players were good sports and ate what they were given. Even so, an image of Coach Kim Mulkey in which she is looking at the fast food with what could best be described as open disgust quickly went viral.
Once again, President Trump has disappointed.
The Lady Bears also presented Trump with a custom jersey bearing his name, prompting him to make a weird joke about his “beautiful arms.” At one point he asked Coach Mulkey if she would be interested in working at the White House, to which Mulkey bluntly said “no.” She can hardly be blamed for not wanting to work in such a dysfunctional and evil administration, and she must be commended for responding so simply and honestly.

In an Oval Office meeting just now, Trump asked the Baylor Lady Bears’ head coach Kim Mulkey, "Would you like to work at the White House, by any chance?"
Her response, per pool: "No."

In the scheme of things, Trump serving athletes fast food again is one of his least egregious faux pas, but it does serve as another stark reminder of how much class and seriousness the White House has lost since it passed from Barack Obama to Donald Trump. The world sees this administration a running joke, and Trump just can’t seem to resist reinforcing that notion.
