Trump just lashed out at reporters because nobody listens to him in the White House

Momentum is building to impeach Donald Trump in the wake of the release of the Mueller report. Even with heavy redactions, it paints a picture of a habitually criminal president who attempted numerous times to obstruct justice and undermine the Russia investigation. Fortunately for Trump, his aides reportedly had so little faith in him that many ignored his directions, which in turn prevented him from affecting the probe by proxy.

“The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests,” the Mueller report states.

This morning, Trump was asked specifically about this passage. Rather than defend himself by pointing to the fact that it technically lets him off the hook for his misbehavior, the president’s ego got the best of him.

“Nobody disobeys my orders,” he insisted before turning and walking away. In the clip, you can almost see the insecurity radiating off his body.

Of course, his aides did disobey his orders, numerous times. In fact, The Washington Post found fifteen different occasions on which members of his staff refused to carry out his directives. Clearly, this is not a leader who inspires anything even close to confidence in his subordinates.

It cannot be stressed enough how bad the Mueller report is for Trump. The aforementioned passage, in particular, makes the case for impeachment. Not only is the president a crook with no respect for the rule of law, he’s an incompetent crook. Nobody respects him and he is totally unfit to hold office.

Impeachment must be pursued, even if it only ends with the Republican-controlled Senate protecting Trump from being ousted. It’s the right thing to do. Nobody can be allowed to get away with this kind of behavior, least of all the president.
