Congressional Democrats just struck back at Huckabee Sanders for her vicious insults

After White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went on national television and declared that she did not believe that Congress is “smart enough to look through the thousands of pages that I would assume that President Trump’s taxes will be,” highly offended Democrats struck back at the unjustified low-blow from the president’s designated media attack dog.

Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL), a former engineer with two Masters degrees that presumably included a copious quantity of advanced mathematics courses, immediately responded to reports of Huckabee Sanders derisive comments with a challenge to the press secretary blessed with the “perfect smokey eye,” as comedian Michelle Wolfe described her.

Congressman Ted Lieu — another frequent congressional Trump critic with a large Twitter following — responded to his House colleague’s throwdown with a witty mocking of Huckabee Sanders that turned her accusations into a plea for helping the supposedly limited intellect of Democratic representatives in the legislative branch understand why the Republican-enacted tax “cut” actually made the taxes on his middle-class California district go up.

Representative Casten was happy to help his fellow Democrat and throw shade on Huckabee Sanders own intellect at the same time.

Compared to the somewhat jocular replies by Representatives Casten and Lieu, Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL) expressed more outrage at Huckabee Sanders pernicious underestimation of the abilities of the members of Congress, given their diverse backgrounds and experience which far outweigh that of a White House press secretary who can’t even manage to hold the daily press briefings that are part and parcel of the job descriptions of any of the previous occupant of that post.

In a tweet admonishing the press secretary, Mucarsel-Powell lectured Huckabee Sanders on both psychological projection and manners.

Representative Don Beyer, on the other hand, used his response to the insult to point out that while stick and stones may break their bones, Congress still has the weight of the law on their side and that the president is still not immune from complying with it.

The political clap-back that Huckabee Sanders inspired with her derogatory remarks just goes to prove that when you are trained to be an attack dog, you shouldn’t be surprised to encounter equally vicious bites in return from your targets, particularly when your bark is so laden with lies.
