The conclusion of the Mueller probe and the apparent exoneration by Attorney General Barr has had little effect on calming the President, as was made clear this morning when Donald Trump launched into a wild and unhinged rant on the White House lawn.

Once again, the President creepily adopted the third-person voice and raged against all of his “haters,” raged about how there was “no collusion,” accused his investigators of being a “dirty cops” and insinuated that the entire investigation into serious allegations of collusion with a hostile foreign power was part of an “illegal coup.”

“After $35 million with 13, increased to 18, angry Democrats, people that truly hated Donald Trump, truly hated Trump, they found no collusion whatsoever with Russia,” said the president, speaking in the third person. “After wasting all of this money and all of this time with people that were haters, people that worked on the Hillary Clinton Foundation, people that were absolutely haters of Trump, they found no collusion.

What has been found during this period of time are the illegal acts of getting this whole phony investigation started, and hopefully that is where people are going now. It was an illegal investigation. It was an illegal investigation. It was started illegally. Everything about it was crooked. Every single thing about it. There were dirty cops. These were bad people.”

“This was an attempted coup, this was an attempted take down of a president. And we beat them. We beat them. So, the Mueller report when they talk about obstruction, we fight back. And you know why we fight back? Because I knew how illegal this whole thing was.”

It is deeply disturbing to hear the president talking about the enforcement of the law and the investigation of incredibly suspicious behavior by himself and his campaign in such a reckless fashion, and a clear sign that he knows something that we don’t about the contents of the Mueller Report.

These are not the words of a totally exonerated president who was simply up to some very cool and very legal things while running for the Oval Office. This is a projecting and extremely telling outburst of a man whose knowing guilt and crippling fear at being discovered is obvious to everyone, and we must redouble our efforts to make sure that we find out what exactly is in the Mueller Report and bring him to justice.
